I could care less about the Jack Adams personally, but since some on here wanna talk about it, here's an article about how Bruce Boudreau should win it this year.

Same logic applies to coaches. They wouldn't be coaching at this level if they hadn't shown coaching ability. I think you bring up good points, but I also look at the little clip Whitelie through up and think "ya, in what world is there clearly not a system there." as it seems that it is very systemic.

He does bring up good points, Willie can definitely get better at match ups. But before I go judging Willie's ability to line match, who outside of the Sedin's are going to regularly be better than the opposition? Sure the very young and inexperienced second line can outperform a 4th line, but most teams only give those guys 5-10 minutes total, so the rest of their ice time is against bigger/better/stronger competition.

Again I don't think he will survive this year, but at the press conference, they will say Willie's message wasn't getting through and he wasn't connecting with the players and that they need a new voice. Heck they might even say he didn't deliver the match ups they expected or utilized the players properly. They won't say the systems failed, or the style of play didn't match the players (a la Torts)

On the bright side, it seems no matter how bad we get we're still better than the Oilers and Leafs.

It won't matter who coaches the team until the core is gone. This team plays a certain way and until the main group is gone they will continue to play that way.

Yeah I know and understand the mindset, just can never get behind and endorse it.

It's all over tomorrow...until the ping pong balls drop and the canucks get screwed again

Truthfully even if we pick 6 th , we won't get screwed. The team is moving forward. Bo is a stud and Tryamkin will bring strong D for years

just what i am saying even if we get Mattews....Arizona would give ALOT to get the first overall local kid, you can't put a price on the extra value he could bring to a franchise like that, they might be willing to give alot, like Lindros alot..

I definitely like the idea, however if we get the first pick I think Matthews would be pretty ideal fit for this team right now. That being said, if we get strome and a lower but still 5 or 6 pick back it's hard to say no to that I hope for JB

I'm very pleased with Bo, Tram I'm extremely hopeful he takes the off season seriously and makes the required strides needed. He's has only been brought in 11 games ago and is inserted into an abysmal defensive group. That is the only reason I'm being cautionary optimistic.

yes thats true. This opportunity will pass by in mere years. I think its a given that demko will be nhl, so its not like he'll have to worry about paying bills anytime in the next 25 years either. Probably a good idea to go for it.
- SMBDragon

Very true. My Cousin won the Hobey baker at UND and was offered minor league deals by Anaheim STL and Pitts…he passed and stayed in school they never called again. He is in Europe now albeit making great money but still…no NHL.

yes. I suspect having hammer even a single year would be good on the mentoring front.
Burrows still has a lot of use on PK (1 of the best in nhl we've heard) and his screens are great too. Started scoring more lately as well.
But that hefty contract would make it very very difficult to move. I do believe he is a good team guy too and alwasy an option for sedins as well.

Id say he stays for his final year. Who knows from there....but hes one of those guys thats earned his place in the organization after his playing career.

- SMBDragon

I am actually coming around to the idea of Burrows and Hammers mentorship as I am seeing what Hammer is doing for Tryamkin. I'm just not sold on keeping their contracts around...

Yup, thats why I think he goes pro this year. Its hard to go back and finish (I actually think courses expire after 7 years, at least at my school those were the rules), but the NHL is a rare opportunity, and others have managed to do school while playing.

Perhaps its actually his family is pressuring him to finish school instead? Mom's have that guilt factor

- WhiteLie

Precisely. As I was explaining to Dragon about my cousin that won the Hobey at UND…this is exactly it. His family pressured him to stay in school and I feel it cost him his shot at the NHL.

Curious what 1 offseason of training & reflection does for players like Sven JV JM etc.
Sven has shown he really gets it.
Etem shows flashes. Needs to understand he cannot be inconsistent.
JV looks to be getting more comfortable. I think more confidence is needed & someone to personally mentor him. Smyl is my man.
JM is the wild card. He can make the biggest jump of all IMO. Get stronger & get low & work on Fo's is surely in the plans for him. Bo & him should hang together. Bo will make a huge impact next year the way he keeps upping his growth strength & savvy.

Seriously man, you think you know everything? You just made a comment suggesting the "trap" was outlawed.

Systems in hockey are the same EVERYWHERE. The difference between a good coach and a bad coach is that the good coaches figure out the learning disability of the worst players and effectively communicate to them where to be, or move the puck in a particular situation. The system breaks down when players make bonehead players (frank) it up, which is more than half the Canucks defense. You're not in the room to say there is no system, I am willing to bet they talk in video over this and guys just cant see it when they are on the ice

I dont come on here to brag about my hockey knowledge, I come here to talk Canucks, but when you try to tell me I dont know systems I will laugh at you. My coach in Juniors was the D coach for the memorial cup champion Giants, so go ahead and tell me I have no idea what I am talking about. Get off your high horse

- WhiteLie

i watch games I dont have to be in the room.

Have a nice day bro....I have no wish to be angry or you be either. You dont see it and thats ok.
