Well said. I have played and helped coach up to the WHL level. Sorry Dragon he's pretty bang-on here.

there are certainly difference4s of opinion n thats ok.
I played sports too and treat many pro athletes in different sports including nhl. I hear stuff from them all the time too.
I think the important thing to remember is that its not all 100% 1 way or another, which Ive pointed out several times over time.

It seems many who do not share the same perspective here have this black / white way of looking at it.
We know systems exist and are used by good coaches. SO thats undeniable,... we know that we collectively agree willie isnt a good quality coach too.....we also see that people dont like weber, bart, etc. So we agree theres a collection of issues. Not 100% players or 100% coach....
so for sake of sanity why dont we just 50/50 the whole thing and agree both sides need fixing. This season is not ok or forgivable, this is pro sports. Win or youre gone.

I hearya about systems but the turnovers & poor passes & poor decisions from the D start the trouble & players like Bart & Weber show that in spades. Many here have said passes in the feet r N issue & i agree thats where most problems begin on the breakout as well as waiting too long to move the puck. It doesn't help that Marky & Miller r not good or smart handling the puck either.

yay!!
Its funny, Ive said all along fix player issues. But I do think the coaches are a bigger issue....good coaches get more out of lesser players.
But regardless, I can see we have at least agreed this is better this way.

It sure was strange though how people reacted at times....same people that posted page after page of pro tank crap but cant handle 4-5 posts on coaching lol.

Haha yeah, and really I tried to convey that I know what you're getting at, I do think they will have a new coach at some point next year and Willie has a lot of room for improvement if he stands any chance at all of being an NHL coach

I do think there is a similar elasticity with player-coach interactions. In the same fashion a good coach can get more out of lesser players, your best players can also make a good coach look bad. Good teams are all on the same page or at least with minimal problems

a week ago I was reading some thing on a different site and there was a poster that said there was some thing like a university study on sports related activity and apparently they had WD on a heart rate monitor....It went on to say they were shocked to see his HR went up pretty high and never came down the entire time. Kinda suggestive of some anxiety.

Another person pointed out that if hes that anxious on teh bench its no wonder he doesnt change anything, too wound up to think straight. Sure explains some questionable decisions if this is at all true.

I think Hammer OWES us 1 one year resign at 3 million with no no trade clause so we can actually get something for him this time.

He will get his term and money just 1 year later.

I highly doubt he signs for 2-3 million for 2 years. 2 @ 4 or 3 @3 and I think he'd accept.

I'd love to be wrong however.

- golfingsince

I'd agree normally but Hamhuis is not your average players & has other motives.
He comes back if JB wants him & at a nice hometown discount.

I'm down for that๐Ÿ‘๐ŸปโœŒ๏ธ
I enjoy good hockey talk & hear differing perspectives cuz after all its only more info & food for thought & not about winning debate points. Some ppl maybe see it as winning or losing but i rather see it as fun times if airing it out & see what sticks.

I'm outspoken & gregarious a lot of the time but i never believed i'm right or know everything. I like learning & seeing other ppls points. Words never hurt me & i try not to hurt others with words. Its only yak after all.

I think WD would be the 1st to say he is not the end all be all as an NHL coach & therefore is willing to only get better at his profession. Its about survival & coaches adapt or they r out of a job like many before.

I believe that. WD is always agitating on the bench & his mind is on hamster wheel.
When u cannot play & can only live Vicariously it makes much sense.

Thats a good observation IMO๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
The D corp in its entirety is at issue with offense & puck moving being todays need.
Hammer may not be what we want but he is still in demand if not here as a Canuck.

I'm hoping JB can bring another defenceman to camp that can step in like Hutton and Tryamkin did. We usually let UFA's walk anyway.
