Macdonald scored last night. Ghost, Giroux and Voracek didn't. Therefore Amac>everyone

This logic is sound.

I think Gostisbehere is also hurt by his defensive partner. MacDonald isn't the worst player in the NHL, but his passive NZ play tends to lead to a lot more time spent in the Flyers end for him and Gostisbehere.

Teams have adjusted to the Flyers PP-especially the first unit-and when teams get numerous bodies on Giroux & Ghost, the other guys have not been able to perform effectively. Whether it's injury or an inability to step up, it's a big contributing factor to Gostisbehere's dip in production.

I do disagree on the tired aspect. This team has been basically playing playoff type games for 10-12 weeks. Combine that sort of pressure(which admittedly is self induced by their poor play in October & November) with the grueling end of schedule workload of 12 games in 21 days, and fatigue is almost certainly a factor, and I think the mental fatigue is a bigger issue than the physical.

I meant physical fatigue. They are wiped mentally, I have no doubt...though other teams are dealing with it too. But if you want to get into the dance and make some noise, you have to dig deep into your reserves.

As for AMac, you are preaching to the choir. I was just trying to mix it up and not mention him lol.

The Phantoms with all the high end prospects in as reinforcements have 7 shots through half the game. Oy vey. Come on, kiddos.

Of course not...but I expected a few more shots!

Phantoms all season though have had a serious issue getting shots and allowing shots.

I expect them to have a rough start but hopefully find their legs in a few games.

I expected them to all join the Flyers right away for the playoff race. And then for 1 of them to win the Conn Smythe. Anything less and they are busts.

I think fatigue is a possibility. I just finished watching last night's game. We can definitely agree that Mac isn't very good. He may have started strong in his call up but now, he's playing to become the first call up next season. Gudas had a rough first half of last night's game and worked his way up to average. Turnovers leading to breakaways by not just the defense but forwards like Simmonds. The top line had a rough game defensively against the worst team in the league. They might be gripping the sticks too tight. Passes aren't on the tap. Open nets are being missed. The last two nights were ugly.

I think Boston can and will win.

Rangers and Wings are a toss up.

If Crosby and Letang play, we're out. If they're out, we take both games.

I don't buy the Flyers are tired argument too too much, but for Ghost I think it may actually be true. He has never played a full pro season before. Going from 40 games in college to missing an entire season to an 80 game grind is tough. This being one among a few reasons for his slowing down, as you alluded to.
- Mononoke

I hate the tired excuse. They played the same exact way at the start of the year. They couldn't have been tired then.

They're just not a good team.
