This. We need to have those players cooking in the minors for a while and then able to step in to key roles when the cap struggles come. That way they're ready to play in the system and can also play on the cheap.

Another reason why I want Rochester to start doing well. I know that we don't want a log jam of players that can't all play in ROC (although they could also go to the ECHL but that's different) I do want players being on the same team and with a similar system so that they build chemistry and can jump right in a la Detroit.

- Zschalberg

Richard Rackell -30th overall, developed for 4 years, now a top 6 player

JT Miller - 15th overall, back and forth from the AHL for last two years, now a 20 goal scorer. Will have even bigger role when they move Nash

Tyler Toffoli- 47th overall - Developed for 4 years, now a 20+ goal scorer

Yea....I'd like to have a couple guys like this waiting for when Kane wants 7+ a year

True. I get that this is their big bargaining chip, just annoys me when TT's agent is mad because "The Bills won't give us money now even though last year we said we'd take their offer for 2 years". You made the deal, if they don't want to do anything about it now, that's their call.
- Zschalberg

It's about financial security. If Tyrod Taylor goes into the season and bombs, or even gets hurt, the Bills can cut him with little ramifications. It's the nature of the business.

Yeah just looked it up 50% in 15 or 50% in 16 or being on the active roster 5 days after the 2016 SB. So it was going to be voided no matter what.

Interesting based on his current value and breakdown.

And if our GM is a "Genius" as some has touted him as, then those should be avoidable.

I still think these three would make a formidable 3rd line for several years to come. I actually think murray should give them all 3-ish year contracts at a reasonable "you haven't really proven anything" rate. if one of them busts out in those 3 years, trade them at high value and replace them with Justin Bailey.

For all 3 it would be too expensive of a 3rd line IMO. Do you think that line would total under 6m total? Cause that is what i would want the total 3rd line salary at.

i'm not a fan of trading away their first round pick this season...as deep as the prospect pool is, the talent level isn't as high as it could be, imo...

heading into next season they'll have their top-two centers and two top-six wingers with ennis as a wild card...Foligno, Girgensons and Larsson should all be considered top-nine...

where's the toffolis, taresenkos, nylanders, teravainens and such

Im not a fan of it either, im usually pro draft picks. However, They need a top pairing d-man and I only see that happening one of two ways. A package around the 2016 1st or Reinhart. Anyone else who costs less is likely not a solution to the top pair problem (fowler, yandle etc.)

Why trade Reinhart ? For someone better than him ?

We have a incredible player and now lets trade him and make a hole.

Again, that's why im pro trading the pick...

Edit: especially after seeing Reinhart's jump and our fall in the draft order.

they're ranked 15th in goals-against with a new system and without that type of d-man...not saying they don't need one, but i'd rather keep the pick and see what they've got for another season

What would it cost to trade for a player like him if he was on another team and they were stupid enough to make him available .

Good. I'm tired of waiting on picks to fail and try to trade them away for even more picks.
