I'm predicting Rick Nash will be a Sabre. Just have a hunch. Big bodied goal scorer
- sbroads24

At what price tag, though? He'll be 32 and judging from his stats this season he may have hit his wall.

No idea. Not saying I would like the price, but I just have a hunch based on what Murray said

I think he needs a change and he has the goal scoring touch, Nash and Okposo ?

I'm very curious what it would cost them to trade for him.

He would be cheaper if the Rangers bow out in the 1st round and Nash doesn't produce.

I don't see either of Kane or Bogo here past their current deals.

I know people are tired of losing games but it was meaningless to win games at the end, screws us for a top 5 pick.
- SABRES 89

Absolutely! Now we have to talk about moving assets if we we're wanting to get back in the top 5. Much easier to just be there in the first place, they were there all season and pissed it away in the last 8 games.

Wonder how the under 18 Russian team being held back from the tournament in grand forks will affect the draft prospects. Cbc radio (as it happens) had an interview with a Russia. Press guy tonight.

Apparently they were all on the same drug that Maria sharapova was on. Interestingly, the drug is manufactured in Latvia. It has been banned since January 1, 2016 because it allows athletes to recover faster and strengthens their hearts. A Russian reporter said basically all Russian athletes "from track and field competitors to chess players, even curlers" use it.

Perhaps this accounts for zemgus' lack of production?

I only disagree if he doesn't cost much due to the Rangers wanting to be rid of his contract.

Murray has interest in trying to get Taylor Hall but I found out earlier today, talks within the Oilers organization started with Risto and that's a non starter with Murray.
- SABRES 89

Makes sense
I've been saying all along that there's no way the Oilers trade Hall for anything less than a top pair defenseman

We don't make good trade partners for them in that regard
Kinda makes ya wish we still had Myers to dangle...
Although idk that he'd be considered "top pair" if his play didn't improve with us

He didn't trade for Kane and Bogo not to keep them.

With having O'Reilly, Reinhart, Larsson etc who excel in the defensive zone, he wouldn't worry me too much
- sbroads24

Idk that he'd worry me
But we do need to be bringing in the "right" players

We've got to build a team here,
Not just a collection of good players

As much as I stuck up for Regier at times, that's where his true failures were
Letting guys like McKee & Dumont go, keeping Max & Kotalik... Etc

We need Murray to bring in the right guys to fit certain roles
Is Hoffman a fit with Eichel? I'm not too sure bc I haven't paid much attn to him other than his scoring highlites

The offer to McGinn before he was moved was 4 years 16 mill, they said no. I don't know what he thinks he's worth.

No way. Nash is one year removed from 40 goals. His deal is only 2 years. That's ideal. I just wouldn't pay much

I got a good story about JP Dumont but i'll save it for the offseason, let's just say, Darcy is not on his Christmas list.

Yeah... We can't be moving Risto
No way

I wonder about how "untouchable" Murray considers Fasching?
I think he's our best trade piece of guys we MIGHT be willing to move
