Would be nice to see Ennis play some for the last game .

4 more points to be had . Why not at this point in the standings. Lets kick some ass and make some names for next season .

I kind of want to see Ennis in the top 6 next year to begin.

We need speed in the bottom 6. What would it take to land Scott Laughton?
- sbroads24

I don't think they'll wanna move him
He's under contract for under 1mil for next season
With their Cap probably around 69-70mil, I think they'd try to get rid of Umberger, or maybe not re-sign a guy like Gudas

Arguably "suck," "decent buy low candidates" who "aren't worth anything substantial" are exactly the kind of assets that build dynasties, right?

Cause that's what you get with first round picks just as often as not

I am interested in that French Canadian player (I did not say kid, Cabin), who has three names if he is available when the Sabres draft.

Let's see what Bogo, McCabe, and the other D prospects can become.

It is a process.

Me too. He is what we expected of Moulson or better. Be Matt turned into a skunked NA . And Ennis was Batman.

Pierre Luc Dubois

He's rising fast in the mocks. Got an edge, too.

Regardless of how he looks, he still puts up respectable numbers. He's a fine 4-6 defender IMO

I have little interest in him playing anywhere but the bottom pair though

- sbroads24

I don't hate Franson. He does bring some skills to the table that the rest of our blueline has lacked for the most part. But man does he counteract those skills with his skating. He is SO SLOW. Lehner could probably skate faster than him with all his goalie equipment on and having just had ankle surgery. It's painful to watch him. Especially when you're at the game and you can focus in on him and not just what the camera shows you.

You tend to get drunk and make goofy bets involving men so I wouldn't put it past you to say yes.

But I don't judge.

Yes, him. You brought him up first a while ago, and as the Sabres kept winning, he is the one I have focused on.

It's been announced that he won't play
Rodrigues & the local kid we got from Ottawa will play
Sounds like Cal & maybe Fasching are the odd men out

This offseason's moves will likely determine where Ennis ends up playing next season
If we were to bring in 2 forwards, say Stamkos & Hoffman...
That prob makes the 3rd line start out something like
Girgensons-Larsson-Ennis

I know some ppl think Ennis &/or Girgensons will be moved,
But I still think their low value will prevent it

I would be fine seeing that as the third line to start next season.

No Gionta or Moulson. If both of those two are on the team to start the year, then something is wrong.

If they aren't moved by the time the season starts . They could be back to form and we might not want to move them. Depends on pretty much what TM is able to do till then.

It's my philosophy. Picks are always risky as they're just unknowns in the NHL.

Guys who have been in the league for a few years are more known commodities.

I understand a winning team will need one or two prospects to step in as cap limits and age take their limits. But to complete the last pieces of a rebuild and go from sub-500 to contender, I'd rather go with known commodities (acquired w first round picks as necessary) than use the pick and potentially get a suck buy-low candidate.

But I like the kid if we're keeping the pick.

They could both definitely be moved
I just think we'd get a crappy return
So it's prob not worth it for Murray to do so
Makes more sense to see if they can rebound & fill a role on the team going forward

I was super leery of bringing Stamkos in before, mostly because of the cap implications. But I'm even more terrified of the idea now that he has blood clot issues. McCormick hasn't played in a year and a half. Timonen missed a ton of time and then hung around long enough to get his shot at a Cup and then called it quits. Dupuis retired because of blood clot issues. It could very well end up being a non-issue, but I think the chance it could be career threatening is much higher to be quite honest.

Gionta has been playing pretty consistent for what he is . Wish the contract was a bit cheaper.
