I heard NHL teams use video to study other teams and their players. Probably just an unfounded rumor. - wolfhounds
Nah, nobody watches the games anymore. It's more like the Corsi matrix now:

Bobby Taylor was actually a very highly regarded prospect coming out of junior. However, early in his career he suffered a severe muscle tear (it was either hamstring or groin) and he never regained his full mobility. From then on, he was just a journeyman. - BiggE
No doubt. I probably saw one of his first games during the 71-72 season, although I am unsure which of the games (14 game ticket plan) I actually attended live. I probably went to 5 or 6 of them. I definitely was at the game that the Blues went into the stands due to beer being dumped on Al Arbour. That incident led them to create the entrance that went directly to the visitor's bench rather than using the zamboni entrance.
Most of my memories of Taylor, though, are of the 7-6 win in Montreal (72-73 Clarke hattrick) and the 73-74 games against the Flames (7-6 win), Bruins (5-3 loss on a nationally televised matinee) and Penguins (6-1 loss). Good times. |

I guess. Thats the positive end.
I'd prefer for them to learn a lesson about how hard work can pay off as well. Or the experience of making the playoffs. Start a culture change toward winning.
That and for the sanity of hockeybuzz. If they miss the summer will be hard to read. - flyer_nutter
After getting this close and having their fate in their own hands, failing to make the playoffs will be bad. Not the end of the world, but going on the tear they went on to get this close to only come up short will be very disappointing, no doubt about it.
Jake needs to start performing like he deserves his next contract. Injured or not right now, his play has been nowhere near $8mm per.
Time for our best players to step up when they are needed most. |

They should be able to handle the Islanders if necessary. Unfortunately a win tonight, and a win against the NYI may not be enough.
I said after they blew a 2 goal lead with a minute left against the Jackets, watch them miss the playoffs by one point. Could you imagine? - PLindbergh31
So you expect that Boston will win out? I really can't see it with what I watched in their last contest. |

There's no guarantee Detroit doesn't go 0-2 either....They play in Boston tonight and and at Rangers to end the season. |

I hear you. I was so disgusted I totally forgot that he rang one off the post. Frustrating night all around. 9 games in 14 days, with 2 games on the West Coast is a brutal schedule no doubt about it. I'm confident they will win handily tonight. Watch the Bruins win in OT tonight. That would be the worst case right?
Not sure how Pittsburgh or the NYI play it, but if the Flyers need more than 2 points in the last 2 games, it could be an issue. - PLindbergh31
I honestly don't understand why the NHL allows 9 games in 14 nights. its ridiculous.
yep the Bruins winning in OT would suck. assuming the FLyers also win that would leave Detroit with 94 an Boston and the Flyers with 93. Boston plays the Senators and the Flyers obviously have 2 tough games with Pitts and the Isles. Go Red Wings

I want them to make the playoffs for the following reasons:
1. Once you are there, you never know
2. It's good experience for the younger players
3. I dread page after page of talk about some pimple faced 18 year old kid, that might be good five years from now. |

You are crazy. These are 2 points they need to have, much like the Ottawa game. Unless Mason is dead, he's in net tonight. No need to jeopardize 2 points with a guy who's never played 1 minute of NHL hockey. |

Agreed on all counts. 2 points for the Flyers tonight, and a regulation loss for the Bruins! |

Flyers are 5-5-0 in there last 10.
23 GA / 22 GF
They were -1 GF/GA Differential right before that last Pittsburgh loss, now they're sitting at -8 GF/GA on the year.
Looks like a team stumbling to the finish line quite frankly. |
|
|

One thing is for sure.... They have been playing harder as a team and playing as a team even with their glaring needs. With this hard work and hammering down the system I'm really excited to see this team with konecky and provy on the team next year. |

From what I've seen, they are looking a little burned out. We will see how it comes to an end. |

But I've noticed they've played pretty well recently with last night's game being the exception. - Hextall271
Yah they have been a pleasant surprise. There is actual structure in their game. Keefe is using the same structure in the AHL that Babcock is using so the kids are prepared to make the jump. |

Hopefully we have a chance tonight...
PS: my Jays better get their poop together before tomorrow's home opener vs the Sox. I am not all that happy with a split in Tampa as they've should have won at least 3 of 4.. |

Last night was a stinker, but there was no motivation for CBJ or Tor. Tor can throw our playoff push off track, and recently Bernier pitched a shutout vs Detroit on the road. I hope this doesn't happen, but it totally could. - Hextall271
They sent down a couple of their hotter forwards because the Marlies are struggling with all these call ups. I think that impacted last nights game as well. |
