Quick question: Assuming you are in the 2nd spot for the draft, what does it take to get that pick from you? For a team like the Sabres, I'm assuming it starts with the 2016 1st (Projected 8-9), the 2017 1st (projected 11-14?), and then a roster defenseman (Bogosian?)? Would that be enough or would more pieces (or just better pieces) need to come over?

Sabres defense looks like this next year atm:

Risto-Gorges
Bogo-McCabe
Pysyk-Nelson/Franson

Other than Risto I doubt anyone is untouchable

Edit: There's also the prospects of Guhle, Borgen, Ruhwehdel, and a few others but I'd assume a roster defenseman would be more enticing.

Yeah it was real fun watching some old (frank)s and bags of sh1t like Nikitin walk to center ice and wave. And then reminisce about the late 80's and early 90's again. You know why they are so good at putting on these events? It is because they continue to rehash it over and over again.

They are DEAD LAST in the west and could be overall...certainly they deserve to take some heat

They have a new president, new GM, all new coaches, numerous new players including 3 goalies that were considered the starter at one time and a huge number of injuries. Yeah they should take some heat but I think there were a lot of successes this year.

Talbot emerged and was resigned. Davidson was a pleasant surprise as was Leon's development. Obviously McDavid lived up to the hype. They now need to grab a backup to give Broisoit time to develop more and a couple dmen and I like their odds next year.

Oilers have shown they will part with first round picks for dmen further along like Griffin. I could see Dumba +, Ristolin is another that might peak their interest. It might take less if it is just a matter of moving down a couple spots. Who goes at number 2? Consensus is one of the two finish players but there is a lot to be said for Tchuck or Nylander. The top 5 are all going to be good. Who knows what the Oil are thinking. If it is not the finish players then they could probably trade to number 4 and be safe. Teams seem to covet picks more each year but I think this is the first in a long time that there could be movement in the top 10 Picks.
