All the young guns scoring today is our future, especially Connor. Not if, but when Chiarelli gets us some D, look the (frank) out.

It must be inspiring for Taylor Hall to see all these legends who've achieved the goal he's only dreamed of: Being a former Edmonton Oiler.

Oilers have had a rough season. Not just injuries but new coaches, whack of new faces and three tenders. They have taken heat for it and I don't agree with that. Still everyone likes to think "next season will be the one." The one where they take this young talent and start dominating. It's obvious to everyone in the hockey world that it can happen and happen at any time.

Still I think those that are wondering how far away this young squad is, just has to look at McDavid's first goal tonight. Great heads up play by Leon, great feed to Connor and like always he looks for Jordan who has become his Kurri. All greasy but the best part is that he stays on the goalie. Whether for a screen, a tip, a rebound or even just to be a little gritty... He stays on the goalies. In this case he takes advantage of the puck being free for a second to snap it home.

This was a line that wanted to win. Wanted the puck and played smart hockey. Passes were crisp and a great deal of skill shown by all of them.

Oilers will draft a talented forward this year. They are going to lose out when they trade Nail but in the end the new player will round out their top 6 in a couple years. This team is good though. As is, they have the ability to compete. I can't wait till next year. They said good bye to Northlands in exactly the right way. Hats off to them.

No-one can dispute what Panarin has done, but the 6 season of pro hockey beforehand definitely should factor in.

My ballot would be:
McDavid ((frank) the amount of games played, he's by far the best)
Ghost Bear
Panarin

- lumlums

Didn't factor in for Stone...not sure why it would this season

Panarin is winning the calder...brace yourselves

Doesn't hit help the Oilers anyway...does McDavid not have a calder bonus?

McDavid would still have to beat out Gostisbehere if Panarinin doesn't win it and I really don't see that happening.
- Ihatebrianburke

McDavid would still beat Ghost imo.
However, Ghost has been phenomenal for the flyers.

McDavid first,
Ghost second,
and Panarin last for me.

Panarin has played 6 pro seasons (He is 24!) prior to his NHL rookie season. That is a HUGE advantage to have!

As for McDavid, I already said this, but he has been the most efficient out of all of the rookies this year (1.09 ppg landslides any other rookie this year).

Nah, can;t go admitting that I don't completely hate your dumb, soul-less (frank)ing ginger guts the Oilers, they'll think that I've gone soft...

Don't lie. Lums wouldn't be who he is on HB today, without a ginger nemesis.

Don't worry, as a chemist he has synthesized something for that long ago.....actually two things, one to sedate her so he doesn't have to put in the work, the other to make his winky stand and salute .
Best part is....he doesn't have to pay the ridiculous prices.

Bro, that is kinda harsh. I actually know a guy who was dropped at birth. Its not even funny to joke about such a thing like that. You really went past the line on that one lums, even if it was just a joke.

Exactly what I thought I would encounter in these forums. No wonder the rest of Hockeybuzz considers the Edmonton Oiler forums to be a wasteland.
