If the Flyers lose tonight, then this might be the least important Rangers-Isles game in history.

Still important. If we win there's a really good chance we end up playing the Penguins.

Regulation loss: They'd have 101pts (43 ROW ) to our 97pts (39 ROW). We couldn't pass them, despite having 2 games left after them, because we'd never catch them in ROW.

OT/SO loss: They'd have 101pts (43, or 42, ROW) to our 98pts (39 ROW). If they lost to DET and we won our final two games we'd end up finishing in 3rd and playing the Pens.

Even then I wouldn't pay him what he'd get on the open market. I'd kindly thank him for his loyalty and service and wish him the best of luck wherever he goes. You don't reward a guy for a good playoff run or else you end up with Brian Bickell.

I like KO. There. I said it.

I wouldn't pay him a crazy amount of money, but I'd pay him as a top-six scorer.

I wouldn't give him anything north of 5.5 and he'll do much better than that.

5.5 is fair. You're right that he'll probably get more. I don't know how much higher than that I'd go...maybe to 6. I guess it depends on how confident I was that I could replace him. I mean, things don't always move quickly for the Isles...we've needed a legit winger for Tavares for like seven years now and haven't been able to land or develop one. I'm not sure how smart it is to let the closest thing we have to one walk.

KO takes a lot of heat here, and yeah, he makes some dumb plays, doesn't carry the team, and it's funny when he trips over blue lines and faceoff dots. But when he's going, he can be really good, and even when he's struggling he still finds a way to get some points. It's not even like he's good in useless games and bad in pressure ones. It's just sort of random. He could be amazing in a big game and bad in the next big game.

So, inconsistent for sure, but not a bad player to have. I'm pretty sure I've said it before, but if we got a winger for Tavares...a real 1-2 punch...KO would round out that line perfectly...like he did when it was Vanek-Tavares-KO for a while.

I'm guessing Lee wants KO re-signed too?

Your odds of you winning that bet get a little better. That 1st wild card spot is much preferable to 3rd in the Metro at this point.

It will be difficult for this team to do anything more than tread water going forward if they lose KO (and even more so if they lose Nielsen).

Detroit helped out the Isles. I think the Isles need one more point or the Flyers to lose one more point to make it official, but they Isles should be at least the 7th seed.

Isles clinched the 1st wildcard with that Flyers loss. They could still finished tied in points but isles would have 44 wins flyers would have 42

Are you sure about that? I thought it went points, ROW, head to head, then goal differential.

Yes I'm wrong. I thought ROW was used if both teams had same amount of wins and points.

I dont understand how the isles can be 30-1 when there are only 16 teams in the post season. Then again i dont understand how cruise ships float, and how subways carry 1000s of people and stop on a dime.

If I play Michael Jordan 1 on 1, do I have a 50/50 chance of winning?

Funny how the Panthers co owner wants to play the isles, cause as an isles fan I'd love to see that match up. The isles can beat them.

Can't really blame his logic. I'd rather face Greiss than Lundqvist in the playoffs too.

True and I get it......i still don't think the isles being 30-1 is right. I think 15-1 or 20-1 would sound more accurate, but 30-1 is like MAJOR underdog. Then again like I said before, I dont get how cruise ships float, so there you have it.

I totally get it, but to publicly say it makes no sense. Why put unecessary pressure on your team?
