If clutterbuck plays tonight I would sit Bernier and I would keep Boulton in for Bailey and let Bailey eat popcorn up in the press box. Would like to see Boulton & McIlrath go at it - Vukota
Totally agree on sitting bailey........as for Boulton vs McIlrath, Boulton would literally knock him out. I dont think McIlrath is that tough. He's willing to go, but so was Cairns, and Carkner, and they both had soft chins. |

Hamonic, Nelson and your 1rst for Hall and our 1rst. But I doubt other Oil fans would agree. - Wildschwein
That would be robbery for the Isles. |

Correct. And if the season series had 5 games, the first game of the series is eliminated. - eichiefs9
which means if the flyers win the next 2 in regulation or overtime, and the isles lose in regulation against rangers and sabres, the last game of the season vs the flyers would determine if it goes to the next tiebreaker; goal differential: which would be isles. |

Correction: The first game in the city that hosted the extra match is wiped out.
So, hypothetically, if we played the Rangers 5x and it broke out like this:
@Barclays
@MSG
@MSG
@Barclays
@MSG
The 2nd game of the series (1st at MSG) would be wiped out. |

I just said him because I think he is the only one who would drop the gloves with Boulton. Glass would be taken offf on a stretcher if he tried to fight Boulton |

right -- it happens to be the isles played 3 at home vs the flyers, and they won the first, so that game would be wiped away. |

Boulton is one of the last of his kind.......he packs a really heavy punch. Those guys aren't really around anymore. But for the sake of discussion I would dress Boulton for this game and let him run around lining guys up. |

Clutterbuck and Mayfield on for extra work. Presume they're both our, de Haan in on D. #Isles
Looks like Zid is back in for Mayfield and hopefully Boulton stays in. Maybe Prince for Bernier? |

I really dont see how the management would sit Mayfield. Big body, who can skate, and block shots, yet Zidlicky is a better option? |

Only thing I'll disagree with is Mayfield can't skate Rangers aren't a big team but they can skate |

I say once we know our seeding we let Bailey play like 50 minutes in a game as punishment to see if he can find his game |

I think for a guy his size he's just fine. He's not gonna be the PP qb. But for a bottom pair guy who's gonna block shots and head man the puck, he's perfect. When big bodies set up in front of the isles net, is Zidlicky gonna move them? |

So since we hosted 3 times, first game goes away. So, if it comes down to it, our record against PHI for tiebreaking purposes would be 0-2-1.
So if we lost in regulation tonight and Saturday and Philly wins tonight and Saturday in regulation or OT:
They'd have 95pts to our 97. And 38 ROW to our 39, going into Sunday's matchup.
Which means if they were to beat us in that scenario (in regulation only) we would drop to the 2nd wildcard. |

I agree I just think he is pretty slow and the Rangers aren't a big physical team so I can kind of see why he would go with Zid who was pretty good against Tampa the other night. Not that big of a deal IMO |

I don't see it coming down to sunday. I think by that time JT , Boychuk and a few others will be resting against the Flyers |

I just dont think Mayfield is that slow. You already have Leddy, DeHaan, Hickey, Boychuck and Pulock (if he plays) as offensive dmen. I dont really see the need for Zidlicky. He's not a PP guy, and he's not physical. |

I agree. I find it hard to believe the Isles will lose every one of the next three games in regulation and the Flyers will win all three of theirs in regulation/OT. |

And Beauvillier was only a PPG. Too small to succeed IMHO, tbh |

I would show confidence and play Mayfield again tonight. I get not playing him top 4 minutes, but bottom pair should be fine. I'm playing Mayfield over Zid any day regardless of the team. |
