Took the entire season, but we managed to pass the Habs in the standings.

They've got major issues, and I don't buy the fact that it will all change when Price comes back.

Great, now we're picking 9th if the order remains with the possibility of still picking 12th. Whoo-hoo for winning meaningless games, I can't wait for our 1st round pick to be able to help us in 3-4 years.
- sskkoo1

Typical Buffalo isn't it, nothing like waiting 3-4 years more, it isn't like we have been waiting 40 or anything. Meaningless games will cost us another good player, trade the damn pick.

So I just want to get this straight, you're mad that the players we tanked to get are actually doing what they're suppose to do, perform? You'd rather them suck, so we can get another top pick?
- Mentalorgasm5

No, I'm annoyed because although it is great to see our young stars doing well, we still have holes to fill and a top pick could go a long way in solidifying our future core roster. After watching the team struggle near the bottom for almost the entire season, getting a quality pick at the top of the draft seemed like a sure-fire bet. But with ten games remaining, they get it together and start shooting up the standings. It's nice to see them win, but it's still too little, too late, and seems counter-productive to the rebuild at this juncture.

A lot of us saw it coming. The schedule has been incredibly soft. They have been playing a lot of teams that simply aren't very good. It's a strange turn of events from 5 or 6 years ago, when they were beating good teams, and losing to ones they should have beaten.

Eggzacly!

Let's say realistically we pick 10th. I think it would be safe to say that Matthews, Laine, Puljujarvi, Joulevi, Tkachuck, Chychrun will all be off the board. So what's left for us to pick through? We are now getting into Hodgeson/Kassian territory.

Murray better do his homework.

I think he will have that pick sitting out on the street corner in a very tight skirt.

team is getting better with the core players moving forward

IMO they should trade the pick so I am hoping they win out

Have to trust that he has. I would have rather picked in the top 6 but if we don't I can't be upset about it. The team is clicking and it's not the plugs that are scoring it's the players we're going to be relying on. So I can live with that.

I said after last season I wouldn't root for this team to lose again and I still won't. Doesn't mean I'm always rooting for a win but I'll never be sad again getting a W. Imagine losing another. 12 games to be where we were last year.

I don't want draft picks anymore.

Trade the picks and one or two prospects for proven young-20 NHLer studs.

I'm cool with trading the pick but I also like the thought of getting a player and letting him develop and plug in when he's ready. It all depends on what we're getting back, of course. If it helps bring in a top 2 D-man then bring it on because that's what we'd be hoping for in a pick anyways.

Did you actually miss the game, or are you just saying that because of how boring it was? Even the players didn't hold back after the game. Johnson said it was boring unbidden, and a few others said it was boring after being asked about it.

Murray will have the top hat with the feather. Walking with the cane.

Anaheim pulls up in an escalade...

Murray: you lookin for a low-cost prospect?

Anaheim: yeah, I've got "D" for ya...you need some D??

The pick that I would want is Nylander since his brother is basically Toronto's best prospect right now and having the better one and only one of our prospects would be great. Of course, they'll be picking high this year but still.

If we do end up picking 12 maybe grab a winger like Julien Gauthier?

Seems like he's a player who doesn't get as many assists but likes to shoot. Big player too. Projected 14 on http://www.draftsite.com/nhl/mock-draft/2016/

Enough with the picks it's time to move forward, we have enough picks.
