It warrants a penalty if you drive through the hit and hit in the numbers. I'd say the same thing if it was a Flyer hitting a Penguin.

Stop being so biased, Bill! Should've titled your blog "Dirty Kuhnhackl Deserves a Suspension for Decapitating Defenseless Defenseman".

It's a shame more fans won't realize that. Guy's a horse and he's the best goalie we've had the pleasure of watching for some time.

I'm not worried. I think they take care of business against Detroit and Toronto. Boston is in free fall mode too. Good thing about this team of late is that they don't dwell on a loss.

That's really all it is. Get past today, come out strong Tuesday and TCB

He still nailed him from behind, in the numbers.

Looked like he caught him in the shoulder, not the #'s.

Caught him under the shoulder, on right side of the back/slide. Still think it's a minor

Just a weird play... no idea how Amac ended up falling forward there.

How I saw it. It probably was a penalty, and you never want to see a guy sustain a blow to the head, but it was just a very awkward play all around. Clement and Bundy made it out to be the mother of all boardings.

He kind of toe-picked and kept going. Weird. Still he was vulnerable and there was no let up on the hit

This type of game happens when the refs swallow their whistles.

Questionable no-calls on both sides, sucks that the Kuhnackl board led directly to a goal.

The nice thing is it's never heard to come out with something to prove after a Pens loss.

That and the Flyers are still in the Wild Card after it. Hope they have a reallygood practice Tuesday and come out playing like it's a game 7 Wednesday.

Didn't watch. Sounds like I didn't miss much.

This whole wild card mess is really going to come down to the wire, isn't it?

Flyers showed where they stand against playoff caliber teams.* Not pretty.

Edit: *teams like the Pens who are firing on all cylinders heading into the playoffs. I guess luckily for the Flyers, more teams than not are limping into the postseason.

No way the hit was a 5, but a penalty? Sure, we've all seen it called. But why AMac didn't drop the puck back to the open man with 2 Pens coming down on him is baffling. He had plenty of time to get rid of it.

i didn't get to see the game. only listened on the radio while driving until it was 4-1. don't know what happened after other than the final score.

from what i heard it seemed they just had no jump today at all, and any miscue caused problems.

i had a feeling they'd get killed today. just because. it's probably better anyway. not going to run the table. throw it out, rest, and get ready for the next one. 4 to go.

They have beaten the Isles, Caps, Hawks, Wings, Lightning in recent weeks. Penguins are just something else right now, and they're perhaps a real Cup contender. But to the Flyers credit, they've been doing this to other teams the last couple months. They are also one of the hottest teams in hockey.

I think it comes down to the Penguins and Flyers are both two hot teams, but one has the edge in roster and strategy. As good as Pittsburgh is playing, I will be rather disappointed if the Flyers's strategy isn't honed for their next meeting. Coaches need to game plan this matchup better. Penguins are better, but not in so lopsided a fashion. They have the book on us.

I thought it was worth a five and game with no supplementary discipline beyond that. At absolute minimum, a minor. Flyers weren't going to win regardless but the Pens got a point-blank chance and a goal of the play, which made the missed call seem that much worse. Had no bearing on the outcome, as I said.

Agreed. Pitt is at the top of their game right now. Still, if they go into the playoffs with Murray, they are probably going to have a hard time getting out of the 1st round because shielding him with that smothering D is going to be much more difficult, and some combination of resurgent vets and surprising rookies is going to cool off.

Pens got 2 fortunate bounces and then the goal after the AMac thing.

Overall, just a frustrating game.
