Inky with a Andrew MacDonald puff piece. - Pixote Andolini
The other day, without much prompting, Hakstol talked about MacDonald's play being being a significant piece of the puzzle of why they've been able to work around the loss of Del Zotto.
Personally, I think he's been OK.

Late bloomer jay rosehill was finally dressed for the game also and how'd he fare?
A match penalty for a check to the head and a lengthy suspension forthcoming |

My issue with MacD is he is the king of backing up and giving the blueline.
He should have to wear that buck-up beeper alarm that big trucks use when they are backing up.

Yeah. Bad turnover forcing Mason to make a breakaway save yesterday but otherwise his work has been mostly consistent. I like his shot blocking a lot too. |

I don't disagree. The d corps as a whole has really stepped it the (frank) up since February. Look at Manning.
My thing with MacDonald is he's just so incredibly prone to making the wrong play out there. And you can just see it coming too. I find myself reading what he's going to do when he goes for a puck in the corner I'll just end up going "no no DON'T"... and bam he whips it up the boards blindly with no teammate there and it ends up on the tape of the other team's point.
Couple that with things like the whiffed pass yesterday...I dunno. He's stepped it up, but he's so mistake/bad play prone.
I like his shot blocking too, like Pix said. You need that for the playoffs. I'll admit...if the PP turns a corner, Mase keeps playing like this, and the PK keeps it up....watch out. I'm telling you.
The way this team battles with serious puck support, tenacity, and guys like Gudas, Simmer, Cousins, and White who like to rough it up- then Schultz, MacD, Gudas, Raffl, Bellemare, and White laying out for blocks all the time
Could be a hell of a ride with the right bounces. They've shown the ability to- at the very least- consistently hang with the cream of the crop this season and the last. |

honestly one of the best parts of this run is that it put an end to every other post in these threads being about Jordan Weal |

Jeez 5-Nil now. If this game sets the tone for the Bruins unraveling and missing the playoffs you have to think Claude Julien - the current longest tenured coach in the NHL gets a pink slip no? |

Also another think to look out for in massive blow out games - the goonery. Maybe Boston takes some cheap shots at Kane and co. |
