Thanks Bill. Another one bites the dust. Good win, but way too many shots against. In addition, the last five minutes of the second period were brutal; they must step up their game nearing the end of EVERY period. Mase was great, but he still gives up a rebound, or two that have me covering my eyes. Simmer looks like he might be on a mini-streak. I hope that it continues over to tomorrow's game of REVENGE! The "Flower" is down, so let's take advantage of that, and let's not allow another backup goalie look like a "Star of the Week."

JvR had an injury riddled final season with the Flyers but nobody ever remembers this. People say he took steps back and we traded him. Injuries are only a factor when it suits certain fans, mostly the fans who defend players who are still here.

Coots and Ghost have played the same amount of games. It's up to you to choose who has had what impact.

well you can go back and see I was a big JVR fan and backed him when people ripped him for staying in college and also all throughout his time with the Flyers. I didn't like the trade.

why in the world do I need to choose between the two? they both are important parts of the team

Watching these two sorry teams. I can't imagine losing to either of these two squads next week. They (frank)ing suck.

DING DING DING DING!

This team is a borderline playoff team. Without Couturier, they are not even a borderline playoff team. Without Ghost, they are not even a borderline playoff team. The notion that somehow you *have* to choose between them is a false premise.

There is No question Sean Couturier is important to this team. We can't win without him but we've also lost with him in past seasons. I just feel Ghost is more of a tipping point for the Flyers as why we may make the playoffs.

All the young guys have taken steps forward to help lead the charge. They are so much better at even strength then last couple of years. It is not even close. In particular schenn and coots have developed like we'd hope

It's apples and oranges because of the coaching. No way to tell but both play key roles so it's not worth debating

Greening flubs a perfect feed from nylander and back the other way sparks can't stop a clear slap shot from the blue line.

I agree. The Flyers' problem/weakness really (IMHO) is a lack of depth. The secondary scoring has picked up, and it can be the subject of endless debate as to how much the addition of a playmaking defenseman (Ghost) has had to do with that.

Sure. For me, just feel like we have a really good top 6 at forward. Our defense in my opinion looks like a below average group both on paper and pre Ghost.

I give a lot of credit to the coaches, because the D is definitely a rag tag group but they are getting it done.

As for Goalie play, I can't remember a better year in the recent past.

I hate that Manning plays every night and he does take unnecessary penalties and mistakes. We're winning but I never felt Medvedev was so terrible that he's so bad that he has to play club house with Umburger.

It would be something to see Lindblom, Sanheim, and NAK all finish year at LHV. I believe they have a televised game in a week or so.

Manning has made some progress, he's not as bad as he was in the beginning of the season. For that I give credit to Gord Murphy.

It is a shame about Medvedev because I think he could have helped this team, but his mistakes have outweighed his skill play.
