Unles you're in the bottom three or four a win won't matter much. Each position up or down only gives or takes away one percentage point.

Indeed they would. The team lets say Toronto would ask for permission to talk to stamkos and his agent and see what kind of deal they could get done before the trade happens. So instead you get him for 9-10 instead of 12 because your trying to out bid other teams.
