Players get benched because for a moment they r not playing up to the level you need them to...a drop in standard leads to sitting..happens all the time...an injury doesnt lead to a demotion. Even with a drop in standard...the best player gets his ice back...its called coaching. All.situations are different and cannot be brushed with the same brush.
