If Capuano said that I could at least respect his opinion because he did some homework and had, what he believed to be, some sound reasoning for his decision. I'd still disagree, but it would at least show that he put some more thought into it then "durrrrrrrrrrrrr expeereeunce"

But benching Pulock who's play was almost wholly positive, so perpetual turnover machine Zidlicky can get back into the lineup is beyond comprehension. I can't wait to watch Crosby torch him tomorrow.

Crosby and the Pens will be licking their chops looking at the Isles d.

The best will be when we're on the PP and Zidlicky turns it over to Hagelin, then has to skate back with him

Have to love the disconnect Dan. Does Garth not see the coach is not making him and his prospects look good?

If he did that I'd honestly just rather see him shrug his shoulders and skate to the bench.

Right! You'd think, at the very least, Snow would care a little more about HIS prospects.
If Zidlicky, Strait and Hickey are playing for the Isles come opening night of the playoffs, there is very little hope of winning a round this year. Plus Crappy and Snow have their built in excuse. "Hammaaah and Halaaahk were hurt."

He basically did that once this year. Can't remember who it was or what team it was against, but he was beaten and he basically slowed down to let the player finish the breakaway and get the rebound opportunity

Dan, we have to hope that the new owners are a competent lot. If they are, they are seeing what we are and barring a miracle first round(?!) will clean house on July 1st.

In fairness, there is a point when you are chasing a guy that you just know you aren't going to catch him. You have to let off the gas a little bit or you'll just end up steamrolling your goalie or crashing into the end-boards at full speed. That second one would be a good look on Zidlicky.

I was fully onboard with the rebuild and going with young talent over scrub vets, but to sit good young talent over lousy vets makes no sense. If young kids cannot be trusted and there is pressure to win, why were not more trades made to bring in better vet talent?

if Dylan Larkin can play top line minutes for the wings then IMO i think Pulock could play 14 minutes as the 6th dman..other teams give their kids shots when they earn them

Yeah true, I just hate the guy

By the way, every time Frans makes a mistake it's pointed out here, so how about giving him some credit. Huge blocks without a stick at the end of the game last night

I posted this on the last blog, but I wanted to get a response so im adding it here....

I still have yet to get a real answer to my question from anyone regarding Bailey. He was drafted as a highly touted forward, but couldnt "find his groove", so the organization labeled him a bottom 6 defensive forward. For YEARSSS he was a third liner on the isles......and we all watched him continue to be inconsistent. All of a sudden now he's on the first line playing next to JT, and i'm wondering how he went from bottom 6 to the prized spot on the team?

Exactly right Dan. This is not an 18 year Pulock we are talking about. I get not rushing guys. Pulock has not been rushed. He should be playing every game and if he is really struggling then he sit him.

It was definitely a big block. This isn't directed at Frans specifically, but I will never understand how guys don't just leave the play and go get a stick from the bench. You are nearly useless without one in most cases, so you can stand around like a moron until there's a whistle, or you can sacrifice 5 seconds and go get a stick and become effective again.

you can't leave your spot.. it would then be a 6 on 3

I have no answer why he is on the 1st line? Bailey should not be playing in the top 6. Bailey should be on the 4th line with Prince and Martin or Kuli. I love the idea of Cal, Casey, and Martin adding grit to the top 9 instead of having all the grit on one line.

99% of the time the player without a stick is completely ineffective anyway. You can bail for 3 seconds or just stand around and pretend that you're helping.

5 seconds is an eternity with a man advantage...
