And Edmonton has better players than we do too...
- JVince11

They probably still do. They are just a mess as a whole.

I'm amazed that the talent hasn't at least gotten them out of the bottom 5. I mean come on

Edmonton is 26 in GA, 26 in GF (Buffalo is 27th), 23rd in SF (Buffalo 17), 26th in SA (Buffalo 23).

They have better players, a generational talent, a new coach, a new GM, are not better than us. They cry injuries, which is fine, Edmonton is 3rd in man game lost with 343 (Buffalo is 5th with 307 https://www.mangameslost....games-lost-march-26-2016/).

That team needs to do something and do it fast. Otherwise it's time to do another big overhaul.

Why do we think they'd move Lindholm first??? I don't think they move him... Fowler more likely... Lindholm has a higher upside and more years of cheaper control.

No SIGN STAMKOS!!!???

- JVince11

I don't think they will move him first. I say if we're trading for a top guy then pay up. It will cost more to get him and that's what I'm saying we do. I imagine they'd rather move Fowler and would say "If you want Lindholm you have to overpay" to which I say let's overpay. A 3-4 defenseman isn't what we need. Lindholm is more likely to become a top 2 than Fowler so let's go for it.

If it doesn't happen because it's too much or they flat out say no then sure, Fowler and I'll be happy. I just say take a few swings before going with Fowler. But I'm assuming TM knows more than I do and likely has already considered all of this.

the most important stat in march, they were only out classed in one game )at leafs 2 weeks ago)

aside from the leaf game 2 weeks ago, the sabres have been competing in pretty much every game since the flyers and panthers in early Feb

There have been a few games where they look like Ted Nolan's team for a while. The Red Wings game and the 2nd of the Penguins game are fresh in that area. But as a whole they look like a team that can play with most of the teams in the league.

It's a good sign

I'm hoping we keep him as a backup. He's shown he's a decent goaltender. He has his issues and rebound control is one of his biggest but he's a better backup than Thiabult or Conklin or that old guy that we had. If Lehner can be 1 and he can be a solid 2, I like the looks of it.

Agreed. They have been fun to watch save for a couple periods that they stunk worse than skunk himself. Next season should show a increase in production over what we saw this season .

Question, how much of the 82-12-22 line's success is because of Gionta? Do we keep them together next year? He's averaged about 16 minutes/night in the last 5 games and has 6 points in his last 10 games, 9 in his last 15. For the year he's 10-20-30. Do we expect that next year too?

Can Girgensons slot in that 3rd line C spot and that line keep producing? I liked 28's game last night but obviously he hasn't done much throughout the year.

- Zschalberg

nice work noticing Gionta...he's been playing real well and has been the driving force on that line, imo

Didn't I see an interview last night where CJ said he would like to stay in Buffalo for a few years and that he really enjoys it???

I swear it was a Vogl interview maybe.

Gionta's forecheck has been noticable too in creating chances and turnovers. A few have turned into goals that I can remember.

Because he no longer has that. The speculation has always been that they will move whichever defender is most difficult to re-sign. If Lindholm and ANA have an ROR moment than we should be all over that. Fowler is doing a lot for them at just 4 mil, no incentive to move him. I think most likely is Vatanen but I don't know what either of them are asking for.

he's creating space for his linemates too...I think he's a big reason why Larsson and Foligno have been hitting the scoresheet
