Hold up... I am supposed to be RW's alternate account. Don't go giving that to another person.

You're not nearly as condescending or analytics obsessed as Mr. J. Sorry Guile, you've been trumped.

I can assure you, I am very condescending. I just gave up on the fancy stat arguments, people can be as stupid if they want to by refusing to believe them.

Yeah I haven't bothered to defend them in forever either. It's like the abortion argument. No one on either side of the argument is going to be convinced otherwise.

I just heard an interview on The Fan between Starkey and Ruth. Ruth said Geno's original time frame was 4 to 6 weeks. I thought it was 6 to 8 weeks? Maybe the old guy needed a nap or something.....still, he had a tone to his answer that indicated he thinks it will be sooner rather than later.

Interesting....

Anyone catch Madden talking about the Geno crowd? Priceless.

What are Kunitz's offensive zone turnover numbers like? That is his biggest issue. The play is always going to be driven when Sid or Geno is on the ice, by eye 14 seems to turnover the puck a LOT directly and indirectly in the offensive zone, more often than players that aren't getting his opportunities.

It's not theorizing... It's fact!!!

Was there ever a time Wilson actually commented in here? Also how long has he been the pens blogger?

He's been the Pens plogger since I've been here. But yes he commented here for like half of my first year. Even gave me some fantasy advice one time. Got ran out of town though I guess

He started out as just a regular poster. After the last blogger quit, Ryan got the job. He used to comment pretty often, but I think he got sick and tired of some of the douchey comments. Some of them got fairly personal.

I see. So you were around for Metzer? I like him but never knew he blogged here. What was he like?

Metzer was good. He didn't put out a blog every game like Ryan, but I'd say him and Ryan are/were head and shoulders above the other couple.

I'm trying to remember.... I think Metz was the first Penguins blogger on Hockeybuzz. He parlayed that into real media work with the Pens.

Yeah he was the first and did mostly recaps and previews, folks thinking it's hostile around here now should have been around when the site opened. My username says 2007 because it's my second one, but during the lockout a buddy told me about this place and we signed up. Fun times! Even the great ek used to comment on the boards.

Thinking about this.... It's kind of funny, I joined too because of the lockout. Everybody was looking for "inside info" on the lockout and somehow Ek managed to convince people he had sources.

Credit to him, he managed to make a living out of people arguing about hockey.

Haha yeah! Insider info...I bought big time into that. Can still remember where I was when I heard the lockout ended, and then came Sid.

Just how even when its painfully obvious that Geno doesn't fit in with how this team plays its best hockey people will still flip out about the thought of trading Malkin. Then people called in flipping out and he made them all look stupid. Maddens great.
