I know it really bothered me. One guy was pulling the " I think I would know I watch the caps every night and they weren't trying." Please, that game had playoff feels and environment throughout the whole game. It was chippy, a mans game, and tight start to finish. On top of that, every single analyst all day was saying how the caps must continue to keep the foot on the gas so they don't sit back while waiting for playoffs.

And even further, no chance a caps team sits back on a hungry flyers team who they most likely will face series 1

- arichardson22

And if they didn't care, Holtby'd be resting.

I think schultz has been playing great. Schultz will be here next year imo. Morin is going to have to take that job away and im not sure if he's ready to
- Just5

Yeah, I don't think Hextall will be looking to move Schultz.

"Travis Konecny does not need surgery. Expected to re-join Sarnia but not next game."

Really impressed how cousins has grown defensively. There are times he gets stuck defending the first line and is able to hold his own. A really smart effective player
- ravishingone

Cousins took the 3C spot we all expected Laughton to make his own.

But Laughton should be playing 4LW over VdV. That line desperately needs an injection of speed.

Michael Del Zotto, Andrew MacDonald, Radko Gudas, Shayne Gostisbehere, and Ivan Provorov the 5 I expect to be regulars next season. If we are able to move Nick Schultz and Mark Streit, do any of you feel Samuel Morin's only competition during training camp would be Brandon Manning?
- SuperSchennBros

From the way Hexy talked at the Town Hall, they won't insert two rookies at the start of the season. Someone will show himself to be ready and come in, become seasoned, and then they'll consider another. That's just the way it sounded.

I envision him in the rozival role in two years. Steady vet cap friendly plays around 17 minutes while the young kids do more of the heavy lifting

See it always cracks me up when teams that are stacked and do well have coaches up for coach of the year. Its guys like Haxstol and Gallant that really are the better candidates.

Schultz played great last night. Schultz had a few rough moments against the Jets on Monday.

Agreed cousins took the job. I like Laughton at left wing and see him being an effective bottom six forward who kills penalties. His speed is so noticeable on the forecheck. I like his future just a numbers game right now

The Caps definitely brought their A game. Last meeting against the team they are most likely to meet in the first round and Holtby starts (even though there are plenty of games left for him to break the record).

Post-game Giroux interview has him giving credit to Hakstol. Watching them, you get the sense of commitment to the coach. Also, you can see that he makes adjustments, even in game. That clearly was not the case with Lavy, beginning with the Devils play-off series.

Mason still does not come out far enough and backs in too quick. Once a player gets to the dots, he should be looking to shoot as Mason gives up all kinds of net. Even if the player dekes, he is giving up the five hole and the upper part of the net. Rewatch last night from the straight-on ice level view and you'll see what I mean. Also, remember two shoot outs ago when he gave up, rather feebly, the first 2 attempts when the players shot from the slot. Luckily, no shoot outs in the play-offs, as, otherwise, Mason is a complete stud.

Mike Richards and Nick Backstrom got SPANKED in the dot!

Richards only won 33% of his draws.

Backstrom won 7%!!!

The Flyers overall smoked the dot winning 59% of the faceoffs!

Faceoff wins equal possession.

It feels like over this 17 game stretch the Flyers have dominated the faceoff more times then not.

Also, again in this 17 game stretch the Flyers have kicked the habit of penalties.

This team is just sooo damn lovable!!!

My guess is you will see that next season, can't see Hak making that change this year.

Yup, FWIW, my guess is that Provorov makes the team out of camp and Morin comes up around mid season.

I thought I misheard commentators when they said Backstrom started out like 0 for 9. Great work. Couts won a bunch of key faceoffs towards end of the game in 3rd and OT when we were on PK. Crucial timing
