WED 6 7:00 PM ET vs COLUMBUS (ok, we'll win this one)

THU 7 7:00 PM ET at PHILADELPHIA (one of the hottest teams)

SAT 9 7:00 PM ET at NEW JERSEY (we'll win probably)

So probably 6 points at most here. Two games against teams we don't want to pass. Overall, at best I see us finishing 27th. Likely still 29th.

maybe what you see sometimes doesnt matter..there is a lot we miss...and for some players at lot that doesnt happen..because some players are good at preventing things from happening.

its great players like Polak do stuff that you notice...but maybe if he was better at preventing a zone entry...he doesnt have to push that guy in the corner...or punch him...which is the thing that sticks in your mind

It's a perfectly cromulent word

There was a reason to burning the first year of some of these ELCs, and that reason is to burn a year off of some of their ELCs. You can't have an army of prospects hitting RFA at the same time, it would be much harding to keep things cap friendly. Now you'll have 3 or 4 burned this season, and 3 or 4 burned next season, instead of almost all of them being burned next season.

As for the draft pick, I've always looked at this season as a 4th overall pick in the waiting. When you stack up the 3 last place teams vs. the field, the field has a better shot at drafting top 3. So what's the difference between 4 and 5, or 5 and 6? And there's still an opportunity for Toronto to draft top 3, it may just be lessened a little.

The kids have been playing the good soldiers for the Marlies, and now they're being rewarded. I have no issues with that.

It's a silly argument. Who cares how many come up in one year. You want to delay it as long as you can. If you have 4 come up one year and 4 already getting paid you're still in the same boat at that point as you'd be if all 8 were up at the same time. They'll regret if if they're contenders a few years from now and are in cap trouble a year before they had to be.

Changes I'd make, though it won't matter since no lineup made right now will even be remotely accurate (which is why I typically refrain from doing them until at least August). Still:
