the leafs are the only team at the bottom that's winning these days. next game is barfallo, win that and they'll probably jump 2 spots. they've been gaining a ton of ground lately.

Winning games is an unfortunate byproduct of playing well. Playing well is an unfortunate byproduct of having good players who are well coached. These happen to be players who will be with the team for a long time.

This season has not been "pissed away". The goals were to use UFAs to acquire picks and to develop the kids. Tanking just to get a 20% shot at first pick was never the goal.

I think its fair for fans to hope/want a reward for enduring another bottom of the league season. the leafs have been trash for pretty much the whole season, I have had little to no interest in watching hockey this season...I was hoping they end up with a top pick, or at least put themselves in a position to get a better than 50% shot at 1 or 2.

I thought that originally too until I looked up who's been drafted in those spots over the last while. It's a noticeable difference historically unfortunately.

when McSorley hit Brashear in the side of the head with a slash - how many games did he get? (I know it was a different time) but the 'infraction and intent would seem similar...

the mcsorley thing was more premeditated and caused more damage, that's the main difference. keith is very lucky he didn't take out his eye or worse though. disgusting play.

I'd love to see them take a D man if the position warrants it. There's so much high end offensive talent that I think the D-men are flying a bit under the radar. Still would rather Laine or Matthews or Puljujärvi though.

Can't say I am overly excited about an over-age guy who wasn't exactly dominating.

He may be a decent player, so it could be a good pickup, but I don't think anyone is snagging a Jack Eichel here.
