Always thought NHL should go back to all or none, or only reward 1 point for a shootout victory to prevent teams from doing this.

Agreed. Want teams to stop playing for a loser point? Stop offering it. But no parity is everything for the league, and as long as they can fool fanbases into thinking their teams are still in it they'll make a lot of $$. All it will cost them is some exciting hockey.

The 3 point game was the worst rule change in the past 20 years. The instigator is close, but not quite.

Murray was talking about tradition last time he was on WGR as a reason not to increase the size of the nets, but what about the 3 point game? i haven't heard his take on the 3 point game, but he's not alone in the "tradition" party. When there are potentially 33% more points available how do you compare to what teams did 40 years ago like he was trying to say with Bobby Orr, and how we look to see what Jagr does every night.

It is, but it's an illusion. The 3 point game doesn't really do too much, it might affect one or 2 teams a year. I read a really good article about how it was all artificial and how it seemed to be closer, but it wasn't really. Wish I could find it again, but I read it like 4 years ago.

I like what he had to say about the removal of the red line, 100% true imo.

Edit: 2 line pass

Great play to find the open guy. I expected 15G 45-50P for Reinhart this year.

Edit: That was weird it got submitted before I was done. I didn't expect him to have so many goals in comparison to assists, I expected a 2 to 1 ratio.

Cool a shootout. Now we can chalk up another 1 goal loss.

That was quite entertaining.

Edit: and of course the stream decides to start buffering every 20 seconds during it.

I'm not a fan of shootouts. They're entertaining in the all-star game, but it takes all the momentum of a good hockey game and trashes it.

I agree. Fun to watch. Let a big lead slip, then hung tough to come back.

The only good one I've seen was the Neil hit on Drury game. I was there and the place was electric, but that was more than likely due to the rest of the game.

It doesn't help that when this team goes to the shootout, you can pretty much chalk up the loss right then.

Johnson looked clueless in the shoot out and don't think it's O'Reilly's thing. Jack needs to develop a deke move on breakaways. With his hands and quickness, it's a no brainier ; at least to keep a goalie honest

I would've sent McCabe after his goal.

That was a curious move especially considering Eichel's same move in OT on the breakaway. You gotta think they talked about it.

Although, Eichel had him beat in the SO, Murray just got lucky enough to get a tiny piece of it enough to deflect it wide.
