I find it humorous that Nelson is show us in two games what we've been waiting almost three years for Ruhwedel to do. I really hope this kid works out, it's about time the Sabres score on an undrafted player.

To be fair, Ruhwedel looked pretty good in his stint up here when he was first signed too. When you're on a team that has no expectations left for the season, and your put in a position to "just go play", you tend to look better. It's when there are actual expectations of the player that you find out what he's made of. Nelson hasn't reached that place yet.

That's a fair assessment. It would be great though if this kid just never looks back and gains the confidence to be a difference maker for us, just like that rookie defenseman on Philly is doing. We could sure use another young quality defenseman for next year, and buying UFA's like Franson just isn't going to cut it.

I am one of the people here who has had enough of Tyler Ennis...

Yes he has played the wing before but he is not someone I see in the top 6 of a Stanley cup contending team. I only put Fasching there because his big body in front could be huge. This of course assuming he works his tail off in the offseason on his skating.

As an injury fill in. I'm sure he'd play RD for a couple games if he had to/was asked. It's the "for the foreseeable future" thing that players get hung up on. And just because they'll do it doesn't mean they'll like it, or be as effective as they could be at their natural position.
