That's why I think he's playing over Medvedev...a chemistry, probably from their time on the Phantoms, with Ghost. And you're right, he moves it to Ghost and goes from there.

He has 5 primary assists and 1 secondary assist

Coach Hakstol likes him so he plays.

I personally am a fan of what AMac has done offensively and in transition up the ice. It is the defense I have gripes about...but the stats you showed are very biased and don't prove a point like you think it does

The two most obvious were power play time and the fact that this season has showcased two completely different Flyers teams. I know you know how bad the Flyers were at scoring at the beginning of the year and what you posted makes no mention of that despite how important I think it is to the numbers

Also, ice time. Medvedevs P/60 is very close to AMac

Absolutely has to be considered.

0.44 is not really that close to Mac's 0.64, it's actually much closer to Schultz's 0.48. And MacDonald's 5 on 5 P/60 will go up when the last four games get added.

As already stated, MDZ and Medvedev got more PP time than MacDonald so that doesn't explain him being ahead of them in P/G.

MacDonald has 2 PP points in 21 minutes.

MDZ has 1 in 74 minutes.

Medvedev has 2 in 79 minutes.

I honestly think Amac has been just fine for us. All situation guy and plays large minutes. But he certainly isn't a 5 mil man and that will forever skew our opinion of him no matter what. There are other players in front him lately that I'd call out for before him. Like Matt Read. He bothered the crap out of me in the 3rd period. That one shift in 3rd where Gagner and Cousins were playing great and created couple of chances and Read just kept messing it up or kept missing / skating over the puck . Must have made at least 3 errors in one shift. I'm ready to move on from him if we can this offseason.

[bClode brings the experience and the leadershipp
Ghost brings the charisma and energy

Only they can lead our nation to greatness and maybe the playoffs.

But you've got to vote American. So let's think, what American do we have on the Flyers who excels at things like "experience" and "leadership?" I think the choice is clear.

The 2nd pp unit is clicking right now, and getting more time on the ice. The 1st pp unit is leaving the ice with 1 minute + left the last several games where they were never doing that before. So that is absolutely part of AMac's point tally. And on the PP, I think he has 1 primary assist from that deflected point shot, other than that, just dumping it back to Couts or Read or whoever and then a goal is being scored. Necessary, but not exactly a creative force for goals.

Edit: the only primary assist I remember is the point shot...

So the 2nd PP unit is working a lot better now that MDZ and Medvedev aren't on it? Interesting.

And it's actually two primary assists on the PP for AMac.

With G doing the honors. He's definitely getting snubbed for international play now.

Wow.. this is a fantastic point! Crosby was no doubt on the phone to Babcock last night.. "See what he did??" First he shows me up at last year's WC and now this.. I'll take that weasel Marchand, but no way do I take Giroux.".hah

No clue where 0.44 is coming from...thats not what I see at all. You included each defenseman, just like I lumped them all in when I mentioned AMac's PP time. I didnt go through each ones ice time...but fine, you can have me there...still leaves 2 other parts of my post you decided to gloss over

Correlation vs Causation. I think it would be an uphill battle describing AMac as more offensively skilled than MDZ and Med, but maybe I'm way off base. Anyway, I stated why I thought it made sense for Med to get another game or 2 in before the end of the season. Hakstol is gonna Hakstol, and I'm good with that.

The 0.44 comes from the intersection of the "7 MEDVEDEV, EVGENY" row and the "Points/60" column.

I thought you wanted PP time taken out of it since the measly 21 minutes MacDonald has got are supposedly skewing the stats so much.

It's truly amazing that the day after a great Flyers win where MacDonald played well enough that I literally saw no one complain about him on HFB or BSH (where he is generally thought of as being worse than cancer), that how much AMac supposedly sucks in the main topic of conversation here on the hockeybuzz.
