Does anyone else think Medvedev would be more useful in the lineup than AMac? Dressing Medey and putting him with Gudas, then pairing up Manning with Ghost? The numbers may not say it, but watching AMac for a full game, he isn't helping the team.

Not really. MacDonald has been eating some decent minutes and blocks a ton of shots. I'd be into replacing Streit with Medvedev. He's a faster version. Both are softer than pink cashmere though.

Giroux says he is playing. "I feel fine," Giroux said. Hearing of Clarke MacArthur and talking to Ian Laperriere do give him some pause.
Ugh.. It sucks that you can't get an xray or MRI for a concussion.
What do you think Yakupov would cost? Not for you guys, for any team (obviously the Pens though lol).
He is now public on requesting a trade out, and that never helps a team get max value. - Guile
You know, he was a bust as #1's go, but Alexander Daigle wasn't that bad; he just wasn't that good.
If you had to take 1 player, how would you rank these guys:
Daigle
Yakupov
Stefan
Honestly, I'd take Daigle. Dude put up 20G/51P on a horrible, horrible Senators team (14-61-9). His -45 actually ranked 17th from last if you pro-rate everyone for 84 games.

Streit hasn't looked that great since he's come back from that pubic plate injury.
I'd want more from the oilers. Top d prospects like sanheim and provy are worth more than underachieving forwards ruined by a crap organization. - Hextall271
Just not a fan of RNH for some reason. And if the deal included Sanheim I would rather want Hall.
But if I want to add skill next season I would rather just use money and try to get Stamkos over moving assets.

Its not a pick your poison type of deal... Hes requested the trade, Edmonton won't be keeping him after next season (well I highly doubt they would), so they would likely want to trade him now before his value can lower more.
And the Pens seem to do well with rescuing players from Edmonton, and hes a LW, our weakest position.

I wonder how Yakupov would look on another team. Sometimes I wonder if players that play for teams like the Oilers just get into a rut. No really playoff hopes and no real plan. Just keep sucking and drafting high but no plan to it.

Agreed. You'd probably want Daigle out of that group.
It's crazy how horrible that Patrick Stefan pick was for Atlanta. Actually, looking at the 1999 draft, the entire first round (except for the Sedins) was kind of a poop show.
This. Not sure why, but RNH does nothing for me. Not nothing, but nothing worth giving up Sanheim for. - jmatchett383
I would be more interested in seeing what the cost for Mike Hoffman from Ottawa would be over RNH. I read somewhere that Ottawa might move him because not sure if they can keep him. He is a RFA.

Shultz has looked quite solid with the Pens since leaving Edmonton.

Wasn't answering the question, just thought it was interesting that Daigle is the poster boy for busts as opposed to Stefan/Yakupov.

I have watched Sanheim a bunch of times now and he is obviously a very good a offensive prospect but make no mistake he is also very soft. With Provy and Ghost in the fold I just see him as the one to dangle in a trade to improve up front. If the Flyers go after and lose out on Stamkos then turning to Edmonton may make the most sense, I think any of Eberle, Hall or RNH would do very well in Philly

I still have hope for Yakupov after seeing what Perron did once leaving there (ignoring his hot and cold streaks in Pitt), and now Shultz looking like he is not the worst player in the NHL.

I don't know, Perron was very "meh" at best last year. 12 goals in 43 games for a first rounder isn't all that great.

I think is a very good idea and probably much cheaper then going the Edmonton route
