Dont worry...the numbers say it

Yeah, i love seeing Mr "I'll let any forward into my zone without a fight/will wait for the puck to come to me on the boards instead of go after it/have no clue what position to be in/zero urgency/can't make up my mind quick enough to step up or retreat/has no business being on either powerplay unit" out there paired with GhostBear.

Glad the numbers say it

The area near the Whatchamacallit Center is fine. There's like 1 cop for every 3 people there. Go a block away and you're in Beirut

This area is more into hand guns. I was sitting with a buddy in a pizza place and some dude rolls in with a glock tucked into the waist band of his boxers. Ordered a hoagie, grabbed a 40 and wandered around the place pounding the 40 and waiting for his food. That's the uncomfortable kinda nights you can spend even in the 'burbs around this place.

See, that poop gets you arrested up here. Handguns are very rare. That situation you describe would definitely freak me out.

Edit. I'll rephrase that.. Handguns are around, but they are not as prevalent, and it's not legal to brandish them like that

would like to see a hell of a lot more from simmonds, couturier and voracek (gets a slight pass, but he's been back for a handful of games now).

must win tonight.

I agree with all 3 names listed.

I know the fancy stat peeps laugh when you mention Cooter, but fancy stats only mean so much. Goals matter too!

Couturier has 10 assists in the last 11 games. Are assists fancy stats now?

LOL! I love you man!

So if he finishes with 12 goals for the year is that good enough?

For his role, after missing 20 or so games with injuries, 12 goals is acceptable.

For an 82 game season, he's on pace for 51 points. In today's NHL, 50 points is pretty near an average 1st liner. Scoring around 65 makes you elite.

IDK, I think a second line center needs to score more then 12 goals in a season.

All of the other stats are great, including assists, but goals matter too.

He has 25 assists, again as a second line center either the goal count needs to be higher or the assists need to be higher.

It's not legal here either and let me tell you, my buddy and I (he's ex-army) were looking around and talking about where we were going and how fast we could get there.

I've been in the same place when someone pulled a gun on another customer years ago. F that. I've only seen that happen first hand a half dozen times in my life and I don't need to be anywhere around that.

I'm just seeing more and more guns in public lately. It's the wild (frank)ing west out there in some places. Most of my friends and family are not so well off so if we go out I end up in places I wouldn't normally go on my own. Well, not completely true because I do it so often with them that I find myself doing it off hand without thinking.

I mean, I'd love to see more consistency from Simmonds. I'd love to see more goals from Couturier. Even Schenn has cooled off-although he's maintained his good play without the red hot production he had been putting up.

But the NHL is kind of a different animal. Kane and Benn are running away with scoring race, Crosby right behind them. But right now, the 10th leading scoring in the entire NHL has 68 points. Hell, as of right now, when most teams have no more than 8 games left, there's only 22 guys who have 60 points or more. At most there will be 6 or 7 40 goal scorers, and more likely there will only be 4 or 5.

In the top 30 scoring players in the NHL, only 5 guys do so much as average a point per game. Patrick Kane, Jamie Benn, Sidney Crosby, Erik Karlsson & Tyler Seguin.

Its the guns you dont see that you need to worry about. The wild west wasnt even the wild west. I see an open carry gun and I automatically feel safer. Frankly it baffles me that anyone wouldnt feel the same way.

I'm glad I now have a go to expert on the wild west.

So you feel safer if you're sitting in a pizza shop and some 20 something comes rolling in on a Thursday night with a gun tucked loosely into the waist band of his underwear at the small of his back ordering food and wandering around the front of the store?

Good for you.

If I see a random dude openly carrying a firearm, my immediate thought is what's making this guy so worried/paranoid that he feels the need to carry a (frank)ing gun around. My second thought is, how fast can I leave this place before this guy's fears are justified or that last fraying cord of sanity snaps.

Now, if I see a police officer with a gun or an armed security guard, my first though is I feel safer, because this person has some level of training with the firearm and isn't carrying it because he or she feels scared or threatened or impotent enough to need to wear it

Would you feel better about our defense if AMac openly carried a gun on the ice?

Kennet Square? I guess it depends what side of the street you're walking on and the time of day. There's not much urban going on in Chadds Ford and Unionville. I'd consider Downingtown and West Chester nice towns but hand guns are a part of life around there. I spend a lot of time in the towns around there (my whole life) and things have changed gun-wise. It's no fantasy.
- mayorofangrytown

There's really no "town" to Chadds Ford or Unionville. Kennett isn't much better, but is at least a town and can be sketchy (to stick with the lingo) in the "barrios" or around the mushroom houses where all the Mexicans hang. They work hard in (literally) poopty jobs, and they party hard afterward, with the occasional stabbing after a good drunken argument.

Coatesville is about as bad as it gets for Chester County, as far as actual towns go.
