Didn't fully back read, but I'm not interested in RNH at all. I don't think we need another undersized / smaller player. If we are trading Travis I'd want a natural winger to boost our top 6. Agree with whoever said explore possibly Hoffman from OTT. If we are discussing Travis and Laughton packaged together, id even call STL about Schwartz. Even if we would have to add. We could use a snipe. |

If you don't want another undersized/smaller player, why would you choose the guy who's 3 inches shorter than RNH? |

interesting story on the level of disfunction on the oilers.

Interesting read.
And I think it's pretty obvious that one of those scouts in the story was Spector's source for this story. No scout in any sport likes to look foolish. |

If we're talking about trading Travis Sanheim, the return has to be a polished NHL player with size, speed, and skill.
None of the players discussed so far fits that bill. |

Ottawa is a team that's royally screwed after that phaneuf desperate trade, but they won't trade Hoffman. He's been great this year, despite the fact that it doesn't appear that the sens have any plan. |

Yes. Some forget that highly ranked d prospects are worth more than forwards generally. |

I'd be shocked if any of those scouts are with the team anymore although it doesn't appear that it was their fault.. I think the oil cleaned house. |

YOU ARE WRONG......much like Mr Tipptin's kitchen, from My Cousin Vinny, the laws of physics cease to exist when G is near the boards - KINGKENZO
I knew G was a special person/player, but defying gravity? Amazing!
How can he do that and still be a fraud? |

Forgot to put "Center" along with undersized/small. But regardless, I'd make an exception for Schwartz since he's an awesome goal scorer. |

Sure, why not?
Seriously though, I don't want to trade Travis Sanheim for some guy that might suck anyway, regardless of change of scenery. I'd want a bit more of sure thing coming back in return.

I'm just not sure how many established forwards (I'm assuming you were talking forwards) have size, speed, and skill? You're not going to find a 6'4 Pavel Bure.
Edit: If you find one, the deal likely starts with Sanheim and goes from there. |

Great read!
Finally a mainstream source that doesn't pull the punch. I still hate the term bust because the team and situation has just as much to do with a players performance as the player themselves. Yakopov has NHL skills, but lacks so much basic fundamentals and the fact Edmonton hasn't addressed these issues is the reason they are a gutter team. Letting a player stew in the minors is for their benefit to have more time to work on things that will help them succeed and when a team doesn't do that...its the organization's fault, not the players.
It is still amazing to see NHL players who skate like trash and fall down for no reason. So many resources and money to fix technique, yet too stubborn to do anything about it. |

Yes. He also says we should want to play Washington or Pittsburgh and avoid a halak-less isles team at all costs |

If you are referring to Yakapov...a veteran roster player and a 2nd would be enough. He may be a 1st overall pick, but he is still a project player. When I say project I mean he has lots of work to do on his basic game. Throwing him in the top 6 is not going to change that.
UPDATE: I read back, it was just a general response not specifically Yakapov. |

Hes gone purely off of W-L the last two seasons and goal differential. Its a really lazy way to determine a cup. Doesn't even have a graph or the mention of corsi. |

I am exhausted from NCAAing this weekend and so am not going to be patient if they don't play well tonight. If I have to go out and stay awake, they have to win big!

No, someone stated that, if we trade Sanheim, it should be for an established player with size, speed, and skill. My point was that there are very few players like that out there, and they're not readily available for Sanheim. |
