1st goal fleury should've probably had but Crosby made a terrible pass and they where off on a semi breakaway. The 2nd was a laser shot. I'm not blaming fleury for either of those. I didn't see the 3rd so no comment. That was the result of having 4 days off and an ugly power play. |

I would be surprised if Sammy even watched the game, probably at the Flyer Av game. The third goal was a postage stamp goal, literally an inch up or right and it hits the pipe. Not many if any goalies stop that.
Tough loss, 7-2 inside the division on this stretch, how many would have taken that 2 weeks ago. Like one of the Flyer guys said after splitting with Hawks and CBJ, fortunately the points count the same when you beat a good team as they do a bad team. Everything I have seen says that we have the toughest schedule down the stretch compared to all the other playoff teams, that is strength of schedule and road games remaining. Not going to be for the weak of heart. I am sure all the positive vibe on this board will win out though. |

Yeah and the Rags have the easiest. The only reason why I'm disappointed right now was because I actually started to believe we could get home ice in the first round, but after dropping that game and the Rags playing a bunch of blow up dolls down the stretch it's unlikely. Every time we play poorly we always come out guns blazing the next game. We're gonna have a good run and probably finish 3rd in the Met.
Anyone who has a single bad word to say about Kessel or Letang last night didn't watch the game. |

Didn't see the game, but this was a staggering loss to the Devils after how well the Pens had been playing. As you said, Rangers schedule is so soft that it will be difficult for them not to finish 2nd. I actually think the Isles are going to grab 3rd, their schedule is also considerably more favorable than Pittsburgh's. Tomorrow's game in Detroit is huge - take a regulation loss there and at MSG Sunday and the Pens might be in a real battle to grab a playoff spot. |

The Islanders are hot garbage right now and we play them one more time. We control our own destiny for 3rd place. |

I think the Pens are the better team, but if you look at the Isles schedule it is significantly easier than Pittsburgh's. Game in Brooklyn might ultimately decide 3rd place. |

The game against Detroit will go a long in determining how the playoff race will go. As far as positioning in the playoffs, I really can't see much difference where anyone finishes in the standings. To get to the SCF you are going to have to go thru Tampa Bay and Washington. They are the two best teams in the East. |

I was worried about a let down game. Nothing went right last night. Just one of those nights. It almost happened against Carolina. They really need to fix the PP. I don't know what the point is of having all these good offensive defensemen if they insist on playing 4 forwards on the PP, with one of them being Bonino. How hard is it to figure out that if they put Daley out on the right point that he and Letang can both take one timers? Put Sid down low, Let Kessel roam and park Hornquivst in front to screen.
Maata and Schultz can play on the 2nd unit with Kunitz at net front, with Bonino and Sheary (or Bennett until he gets hurt again)
As far as where they finish. 7th would be just fine by me as I think Florida is a good matchup for them. Besides, I'm sick of playing the Rangers, and I'd just as soon be over in the other bracket as it allows them to avoid a potential matchup against the Caps until much later. Despite the win against them last weekend, they are far and away the best team in the east. |

Was that nice? Kinda funny though.
The Pens, Rangers, Isles, Flyers and Wings all seem to play each other quite often down the stretch. A lot can happen. The most important thing is to get in and like I said someone is going to have to beat Washington and Tampa Bay. |

While that idea for fixing the PP is valid, I'm sure it's unpopular. I've thought about that for a while. Run the PP through Kessel on the left half wall and let Sid go to his bread and butter down low position. But then who do you put on the right half wall? Our best option at that point is probably Daley. Other options would be Sheary and Kunitz, both of which have proven pretty ineffective on the PP so far this season.

What is it that you don't like about Crosby (Or even Letang, and Malkin for that matter)? A lot of people hate on him cause he's good, much like people hate on Tom Brady (Personally, I love watching Brady play, the dude is surgical). I'm not a fan of players in sports that just seem like douche bags and that are full of themselves, but if they're good players, even on teams that I hate, I still enjoy watching them. (Giroux, Nash, Brodeur, Voracek, etc. etc.) I get that at some point, if you're going to be a professional athlete you have to be somewhat full of yourself, but I've always though Sid and Geno, and a majority of the super stars in the league carry themselves with humility. - j.boyd919
Did I misunderstand this comment or did you really just contradict yourself in the same sentence? Your not a fan of players in sports that seem like douche bags and are all full of themselves but you love watching Brady who might be the biggest, most full of himself douche bag in all of sports?

Well they need to do something about it. I don't even think you NEED to have someone on the half wall. They have just done it that way for so long that everyone expects it, which is IMHO part of the problem. There are going to be games like last night where for whatever reason, things don't go right 5 on 5. A timely PP goal would have gone a long way to turning that game around, instead it really sucked the life out of the building. |

I can live with him on the 2nd unit, but no way should he be on the first. |

Counting his rings makes him seem like a douche? In any interview I've seen him, he always credits his team, his coaches, his offensive line, all of that poop. I honestly don't see how he is a douche. Because he's got a super model wife (that kinda looks like a dude), 4 rings, and wears UGGs? Now you're just hating on him. |

I don't feel like Bonino fits great on the Pens. I have a feeling they are trying to boost his value to trade him in the offseason. With the emergence of the WBS guys and Cullen adding so much I think they resign Cullen and move forward with Sundqvist next year. Freeing up Bonino's $1.9 million would help for next year. |
