I'm not sure I understand him having any participation on either unit. Let's face it, he's having an awful season offensively.

It's quite possible the PP (or lack there of) will cost them any chance at playoff success. Failing on the PP cost them that game last night IMO. Can't say they didn't have an opportunity to get back in the game.

I think Sutter would fit much better on this Sullivan coached version of the Pens than he did under Johnston. Definitely faster than Bonino and might mesh well with some of the young guys. Might not have played much though considering what happened to him this year and no way his salary would have fit after this year and would have even been a struggle this year.

I don't feel like Bonino fits great on the Pens. I have a feeling they are trying to boost his value to trade him in the offseason. With the emergence of the WBS guys and Cullen adding so much I think they resign Cullen and move forward with Sundqvist next year. Freeing up Bonino's $1.9 million would help for next year.

Even if Cullen decides not to play another year, they can go with Fehr at his natural position (center) and play Oscar on the 4th line. Point being I agree that Bonino is expendable. There is nothing dynamic about his game. No jam, hustle, creativity. Just a body. Trade him for some depth and save the cap room.

I agree wholeheartedly. It is going to be hard to win in the playoffs if they can't get the PP going and last night a PP goal would have given them a chance, especially once it was 2-0.

The trade didnt kill the Pens but with Malkin out, the impact of not having a really good 3C to fill in is felt that much more. Not saying I dislike Fehr but Sutter is way better overall and he would always score clutch goals for the Pens.

The only way the Pens walk away winning that trade is if someone good falls to the second round and the Pens can take him with their pick upgrade from Vancouver.

Last night was the first game of the season I didn't see at least a period of. Regardless of the result I still wish I had watched so I could gauge exactly what went on there. If it was a great effort with no goals to show for it, fine, these things happen though they seem to happen to the Pens quite often. If it was a poop effort then I kind of exoected them to come out flat after long break. Figured theyd have a poop first period after long break but would come alive as game went on. Was that case or was Wedgwood that good?

If the Pens won that game last night you wouldn't be saying this today. It's one loss in the last 7. They've been the top possession team the past month or so and the longest current winning streak in the league just ended last night. They'll bounce back tomorrow. Their forward depth with the emergence of the WBS "kids" has been great. The Bonino and Kessel line looked stellar at times the past few weeks. Other than the time he's missed Ive had zero problems with Fehrs game.

I also disagree that Sutter is better than Fehr overall, let alone way better. Fehr is great on the boards, great in the cycle, and great at setting screens. Not to mention better at defense than Sutter. This has been a down year for Fehr, but I'd still take him
