McCabe and Bogosian have looked good as the schedule has grown weaker. I still want to see them again against some of the better teams in the league, where they, especially Bogosian, struggled quite a bit.

Then what does that say about Risto? Cause as they have looked MUCH better he has looked like an AHLer.

The notion that Ristolainen looks like an AHLer is a gross exaggeration. He definitely hasn't been what he was earlier in the season, but the things I see in his game, even now, tell me that the vast majority, if not all, of his struggles will go away with experience. He has shown he can play very well with the best of them. Bogosian has shown the ability to elevate his game against weaker competition, and that still bothers me. It's about the long term picture, not at a time when the playoffs are out of reach and the pressure is off. We've seen way too many of those players over the past couple of years (i.e. Ennis, Girgensons, etc.).

We won't have these answers until next year imo. If we can get a long term partner for Risto as well it should help in the short and long term. I've been okay with Gorges for now and I think he's done fine but a long term partner who can help mask some of Risto's mistakes and vice versa would help him. Bogo you can say injury, weaker competition, or he's doing something different so we won't know until he does this against better teams.

I'm not too worried about Risto, and Bogo if he puts it together could be a good help. McCabe is young and if he gets even better he'll be a nice touch. That's 3 of your top 6 and potentially 3 of your top 4. If I already have that on my roster I'm feeling pretty good.

I'm not worried about Risto either i was clearly joking with the AHLer comment. I think a big thing for him is the amount of minutes he has played all season long is catching up to him. He is still very young and has played A TON. Now that other guys are stepping up he is getting a bit more of a break. I honestly don't think that BOGO looking good has anything to do with the competition. The games we have been playing have been physical down to the wire games, its not like we are blowing teams out. I think his injury was still bothering IMO and i think now we are seeing him at 100% and also with McCabe playing well they are working off of each other nicely. I would not be upset at all if Bogo/McCabe is our 3/4 of the future. Especially with McCabe only going to get better. I think that is a very solid middle pairing even on a contender IMO.

Switching directions for a second, Bailey has looked pretty good lately. He's seemed to get better as the season has gone on.
Oct: 1-2-3
Nov: 1-4-5
Dec: 1-1-2
Jan: 4-4-8
Feb: 3-5-8 (Only 4 GP as he got called up soon after)
Mar: 6-6-12
Season: 16-22-38

Also looks like he's taking more shots which tells me he's either playing more or he's getting more comfortable. It's nice to see him putting it together down there. I say start him in Rochester next year but I'd have him as one of my first call ups.

I think he has 4 goals in his last 3? Not counting last night. Not sure if he got on the scoresheet. I think he has a real shot of making the team next year. I was very impressed with his play when he was here. Didnt get any points but he didnt look out of place at all and was a presence in the crease.

Edit: Yep he has 7 points in his last 4 games. He is on fire.

Correct. Before last night he was 4-1-5 in his last 3. He got 2 assists last night so he's now 4-3-7 in his last 4. I'm not able to speak for how he looks in Rochester since I haven't watched enough games but his stats tell the story that he's taking on a bigger role and helping this team try to make the playoffs.

Before he was called up he was 10-13-23 in 47 GP. Since he's gone back down he's gone 6-9-15 in 11. Kid has turned it on and getting that taste of what it takes in the NHL might have done some real good for him.

Edit: That 2nd number includes when he went down during the All Star Break

Honestly.... i think Reinhart deserves to be in there as well.

Most expected him to struggle this year after how well his 10 game tryout went last year.

I don't know if it has been reported on here or if some have looked it up but it wasn't public to my knowledge yet.

Fasching was the 3 year ELC at $925,000
Nelson was a 1 year ELC at $925,000
Kasdorf was 1 year ELC at $667,500
