I think that gets ugly fast. The only thing stopping outright extortion is that the GM of Vegas would have to work with the other GMs in the league. Unless they got an older guy. Uncle Lou? To be the merc and extort the other teams and then retire and they hire a new guy who has clean hands. It's a bit of a Richard move, but it's business.
- Wetbandit1

It has been allowed in previous drafts
They're talking about not allowing it this time though.
I remember we traded Grand-Pierre to Nashville so that they wouldn't select Biron when we also had Hasek

I have yet to see anything that makes Curtis Lazar a player I really covet other than the TSN making a big deal about his family showing up to so many games.
- buffalofan19

According to a couple of Sens fans I was talking to the other day...
They hate their coach & think he hasn't really given Lazar a fair chance
He's been playing on the 4th line quite a bit
I think he could be a Mike Fisher type player
They seemed to agree with that comparison, if he ever is allowed that playing time in the top6

If Bryan is getting fired maybe he could offer Tim a sweet deal before he departs?
- Deuce81

He won't be fired,
But he's supposedly considering stepping into an "advisory" type role bc of health issues

FYI on the discussing earlier regarding Expansion draft...this comes from Elliot Friedman's 30 thoughts
"19. In the aftermath of the GM meetings, I admitted to being confused about players who will be completing their sophomore professional seasons — Connor McDavid, Jack Eichel, William Nylander, etc. — and their eligibility for a potential June 2017 expansion draft. In asking for clarification, I was told, “Players who have only earned two years of pro service are second-year pros and are exempt.” So there you go. Unless the framework is changed, teams (and their fans) need not worry."

From Garf's blog with 19 missing posts. lol

So it looks like Eichel, Reinhart, and Fasching look good to be exempt which is good news. Hopefully it sticks.

rochester down 5-1 in the 3rd, come back to win 6-5

Ruhwedel gets the winner with 4 seconds left

That would be HUGE for us
Especially if we were to bring in another top end forward
Could also allow us the option to protect 4 defensemen if we are able to trade for a partner for Risto

We'll have to see how it plays out

I expect Ennis to bounce back just fine
Girgensons production will depend on what line he plays on
Tough to see Moulson doing much of anything, especially if he's stuck in the 4th line

Johnson easily. McCabe passes the eye test but that pairing gets trashed defensively on a regular basis against not the other teams top line. There's a lot to like though, hopefully he gets even better next year.

I've always been a big McCabe guy
I've often said I thought he'd eventually end up paired with Risto

Johnson is probably the biggest surprise in a good way

That could be a big reason that Quebec will get a relocated team
Also, $500mil for a new Canadian team is a crazy amount of $$$ the way the dollar is up there
Hopefully one of those western cities u mention can get their poop together quickly
It's prob better for the NHL to bring 2 teams in at once

- jdfitz77

THey're not going to though. Vegas is the only team that has a chance of coming on for 2017-18. They aren't even accepting applications from other cities right now.

Johnson is the biggest surprise for sure. Looks great.

I am also a huge McCabe fan, him and Bogo have looked great lately and i've noticed more than not that they are in at the end of the game with a one goal lead over Risto/Gorges. I Think McCabe could be a #2, still has some growing to do. But love his physical game that he plays. Guess we will have to see how he looks coming into next year.

McCabe and Bogosian have looked good as the schedule has grown weaker. I still want to see them again against some of the better teams in the league, where they, especially Bogosian, struggled quite a bit.
