I believe the two swedes have another year on their contract. Neither would make the NHL right away. Couple that with the one showing signs of disagreement with the organization in the past... Makes me think it's a long shot.

I dont think its that much of a long shot. The euros know that they'll have a better chance of making the nhl if they can perform in the AHL.

Olofsson's contract expires this year

He's listed as 5'11" 175 lbs now
- OlliJochenin

That's still about 25 lbs light for the average NHLer. Not saying he can't do it. Gaudreau, St Louis, Kariya, Gionta, Ennis. Are all small guys who have had success in the league.

I think he's got the speed to make it work, those guys are 'shifty' as well with avoiding big hits. A year or two of getting his ass handed to him in the AHL might either teach him how to do that or show us that he can't.

The #Sabres have signed Minnesota State University defenseman Casey Nelson to an entry-level contract.

Wonder if he plays on Saturday.

He was at the flyers dev camp last summer. He's a solid puck moving dman, 6'2 188 and a RH. Could be a real good prospect. He had 61 points in 99 games for Minn state mankato.

Is nelson getting NHL time like Fasching or off to Roch? Either way if he's any good it gives you a bit of a log jam at RHD. I dont want pysyk gone but pretty clear the coaching staff doesnt hold him in the highest regard.

Even with Franson gone assuming they want to add a LHD gives you perhaps one too many capable righties.

They convinced him to forego his senior season, so it seems unlikely he would go right to Rochester.
