I agree. Mase has a SV% of about .850 in the second half of back to backs as a Flyer, and we have four of them coming up.

Neuvirth getting hurt right now is a disaster, unless Stolarz is able to have a great start to his career and win some games.

- Feanor

Well if we could score a few goals a game and give our goalies some support, Stolarz wouldn't need a mind blowing few games. Just make the saves he's supposed to make and we would be alright. I don't know why but I had a bad feeling going into the Pens game on Sat. We don't show up with the same intensity against them we have in seasons past. Maybe not playing them until Jan had something to do with it? I dunno but we were due for a loss anyway. Just put it behind and come back out firing.

Well you know what would help? If the team helped by putting together a better effort than they did Saturday and supported their tender. If stollie gets a couple of starts down the stretch, the team will need to rally and support him with a good effort. Although goaltending is supremely important, the tender can't do it alone and if the team supports defensively, it makes it a whole lot easier. I have full confidence that mase can get it done down the stretch here but it's not a one man show and people seem to forget that.

This, plus I didn't see us catching them before out little run, so I just view them as 2-point games. Same for NYI, although with Halak out..... The Detroit game is the one where there could be a 4-point swing.

FWIW, your homeboy Laughton was one of the better Flyers'players Saturday. Was in on the forecheck, threw hit body around, and won some 50/50 pucks. No one was really stellar for the Flyers, and some were downright awful, but he was a bright spot.

Maybe he's been reading my posts. Listen, as I stated before, I don't hate the guy. I love this team and would love all of our young talent to flourish, but I was just commenting on how he was playing as of late...that's all.

I'm happy he had a better game.

As long as he's better than Cal Heeter was, he should give them a shot to win.

Man, that first 10 minutes by Heeter was terrible.

Marvel is grasping...but I'll give in and take a gander. But please tell them to stop making them god awful avenger movies. Captain America movies suck too btw.

i mean cmon. Everyone LOVES batman. Those movies are bada$$. Add in Superman and it is either going to be great or terrible. But I read in the WSJ that if this movie brings in any less than 1B, it will be seen as a failure.

I just don't get why they would fight. I mean, they're both good guys and both want to save the world and bring about peace (the same goes for Iron Man vs. Captain America, although I guess that's about Bucky). Plus, the Dark Night series was so good that I really don't see why they need to make a new Batman on the heels of it.

Also, Superman can fly, has super strength, and can shoot laser beams out of his eyes. Batman knows kung fu and has gadgets. This fight would last like 6 seconds and end with Batman either being throw into outer space, a heap of bloody mush, or vaporized into dust.

I'm not a fan boy, but I like the first Avengers movie and the first Captain America movies. Both sequels were less than thrilling.

They're doomed anyhow with Neuvirth out. Steve Mason isn't a number one goalie.

I actually read that as a response to a story about Neuvirth's injury. Are Flyers fans really this (frank)ing stupid?

I saw someone that said Mason needs to buy a Porsche. It took all I had

I think the second Captain America movie was better than the first. Agree on the Avengers, though I think Civil War looks pretty awesome.

Im still trying to figure out what bare floppy titties have to do with fascism. You know that is what they look like if you extrapolate from what her back looks like, and the fact that no one is paying attention.

I'm with you on the first of each of those movies. Very sharp decline with the sequels...almost to the point of comedy. When you have Jeremy Renner firing arrows at baddies after seeing the Hulk pommeling 10 at a time makes you scratch your head and ask yourself, "Why do the Avengers allow Hawkeye to hang with them?"

I think I would rather have Darryl with his XBow than that worthless Hawkeye.

i agree that the plot line seems weird. No idea why they'd fight and that no way superman would lose that fight. I also think this is bound to be a huge letdown after those dark knight movies...

The whole premise of the second one was just weird. It wasn't really bad, it just seemed like it relied on a whole lot of CGI and crazy fight scenes whereas the first revolved more around the story line and included CGI and less crazy fight scenes.

But, much like Transformers, if you want to numb your brain for 2-3 hours and watch a bunch of stuff go boom, which is nice from time to time, they're both just fine.

Looking forward to Civil War a lot.

Also hoping Deadpool gets a super short cameo appearance in the next Avenger's movie (especially if they throw spiderman in it). Saw it somewhere... but hes just in the background of a scene where they are doing a serious team meeting, microwaving up a chimichanga, then when they ask wtf hes doing there he jumps out a window yelling "spidey catch me". Then after he splats and breaks half his body you hear him shouting "wtf Parker".

Then they go on like nothing happened.

Sure they didn't NEED to...but who is going to turn down guaranteed money. It is like the RJ Umberger of movies...it is going to make a ton of money regardless of its performance and there is no way to stop it
