I want the Rags in the bottom wild card like the plague. They might not be very good but they always find away to do something or another in the post season Hank's back. I'd love for the Caps to get Hanked in the first round.
- Victoro311

Rangers schedule is pretty favorable. Unless the Red Wings or Flyers really go on a run, looks inevitable that the Caps will get whichever of those two grabs the 8 spot. I'll be happy if the Caps avoid the Pens/Rangers 1st round.

haven't they bounced the caps twice in recent history?
- dbell646

Caps have lost to them 3 of the last 4 years, I believe (one year the Caps didn't get in).

Edmonton fans thought he sucked ... everyone who has watched him play thinks he sucks. We essentially gave up a third round pick for a crappy Dman who is a pending RFA that we really can't afford to resign based on his QO. I would rather have my third round pick back. -OneontaPenguin

Nothing I wrote was wrong. The way he played in Edmonton ... he was arguably the worst player in the league. Anyone who actually watched him knows this. Anyone with a hockey IQ knows this. Problem is, you didn't watch. So, all the sudden we have the next Paul Coffey with an eight game sample size? Based on his play in Edmonton, he should have been in the ECHL. He was God awful. Congrats to him for turning his fortunes around.

Ok sounds like your looking at a different gif. Ovi's first contact on Dumo was his left leg that was raised off the ice contacting Dumo's leg. He next hit him with his forearms as he was facing front on to the side of Dumo. There was no shoulder as Ovi's forearms hit him as Dumo was going down.

This is why I asked you what a check is.

If you check someone with your leg then yes - he can finish his 'check', with the rest of his body. Not sure I've seen too many checks that were leg on leg first finished with the upper body! That would appear to me to be a penalty. boychuks knee to Geno must be a check in your hockey book is it? Or I'm mistaken?

- Aussiepenguin

Your looking too far into it. Hockeys a dangerous sport people get hurt sometimes. If Dumo didn't leave the ice limping this would never have been brought up.

Interesting note on Scuderi... despite being paired with Doughty, his TOI is roughly 4th over the last 3 games. Once being down to the low teens minutes, once on par with Doughty, the other the 4th most.

That is a REALLY wide variance for a "top pairing D".

Kessel wasn't the problem, he was one of many and one that couldn't be fixed or addressed. It was long past time for both sides to move on.

The truth is that Kessel could never live up to what was traded away for him which eventually turned out to be Seguin, Hamilton and Spooner. He was doomed to fail from day one.

Edit: Kessel will be 29 at the start of the 2016 season and if this season is any indication of the direction that Kessel is headed, it's clear that his best seasons are most likely behind him.

- As_I_See_It

Kessel has been one of our top 3 players for this win streak without Malkin. He is doing everything you dumb Leaf fans say he doesn't do. He forecheck, he backchecks, he blocks shots and play defense. I would do that trade again today if I could. We lost an insignificant package and for 6.8 million a year his production is just fine and improving everyday. His attitude is great and he's having a good time playing with this team. It's irrelevant what Kessel had to live up to in Toronto and it was never his fault that he was traded there or what Boston got for him. What is Boston seeing from that deal these days? Yeah nothing at all.

Your guys fascination with Scuderi is incredible. I'm sure one of you have some notes on how Adams job as a financial adviser is going too.

Mocking Girardi made me think of Scuds. And Adams is a financial adviser now?

He lived up to it last year (scored the go ahead goal) - not his fault that idiot Mike Green couldn't stay out of the box (consecutive penalties led to game-tying goal). Not that I'm bitter about it or anything.

I know, he held up his end. However, Mark Messier scored 3 goals in his guaranteed win.

Good for Messier - little known fact : he also guaranteed victory in Game 7 in 1986 when he was with Edmonton and they were playing the Flames. Then Steve Smith put one in his own net and the Oilers lost, but you've never heard about this because Messier is Canadian.

I watched a Kings game recently. Basically, Scuds didn't hit the ice in the third period and he wasn't hurt. I think Sutter is "picking" his spots with Scuds. Deploying him when he thinks he'll be effective. Protecting him when he'll get exposed.

Actually, it's because I was only 3 in 1986 and the first SCF I ever cared about was 92/93, 1 year before Messier.

Great game against the Caps but I have to say it was somewhat marred by the waste of oxygen knuckle-dragger Weber even having the ability to wear a jersey he didn't buy in the gift shop! Enough with this no-talent-arse-clowns. Wash and Pitts have enough skill on their teams to leave the Wilson's, Weber's etc (and yes back in the day Cooke's) of the world on the bus.

To allow a player like Rust (who's not a cheap shot style guy, just really fast) and Dumoulin (a young up and coming defenseman) potentially get injured and not enforce the rules you claim to run the league by is a farce. I've had it with the pathetic officials that I see day in and day out. There is effectively no reason for them to even be on the ice, they are only engaged in whether there's an offside call or a borderline interference/hooking call. Weber should have been booted in the 2nd period and Trotz should have been warned like they do in MLB. The next time one of his goons steps out of line they should remain on a PK for the rest of the game...that way you get this crap out of the game!

Sorry had to vent...go ahead and bash me now. [FYI I have been anti-goon hit squad crap since day one]

Well for what they are paying him, he can do whatever he wants and its fine. Hes at near Lovejoy money... but I don't want to see Ben up with Letang. I'd tolerate him with Daley for a game or two, if Dumo needs the rest (don't want to break up Shultz Cole).

Well I can only hope that down in the minor minor leagues, they have been using him on the LW, per our coaching staff request >_>
- Guile

I've seen 1 game and pretty sure he played RW in that game but honestly it wasn't something that was even on my mind to pay attention to, he's been listed as a RW all season on their website as well so I really doubt he has seen much time at LW is any while at Charlottetown.

Scuds is in a perfect situation there. Bigger team. Lot's of subtle interference. They're able to protect him from a hard forecheck.

So my despising non-talented players on the ice for effectively one reason (not to score goals or prevent goals) is a reason to be hated...interesting. I don't recall my post being anti physicality but then again I'm only fluent in English. Violent actions happen all the time but when you see specific "players" who blatantly attempt to injure others that's no part of hockey. A fight is a different argument I'll give you that but what I was referring to was not a fight.

It's obvious that you are pro-goon your posts don't hide that fact...
