Very good, Mackenzie thinks he may be the first dman taken and may supplant tkachuk at 4. I'm not so sure, he's dynamic offensively, but can be a little careless in his own zone and is nowhere close to being as nasty as the the other top 2 dman.

I was pulling for Calgary to beat Montreal today but I looked at Montreal's schedule... It's really tough! Including playing the Ducks, Panthers and Red Wings twice and a slew of other tough ones. Even though they're 4 points ahead they might catch us...

Seems to be climbing according to scouts, some have him as high as #5 now. I don't think Chychrun will be there at #8, so joulevi seems to be the bet. He's also a Finn so I think it will probably work well with Risto. He may need sheltered minutes on the bottom pairing next year, but I'm sure he has top pairing potential. I would rather draft him than pay out the backside for Linholm.

What happens if neither d-man is there at 8 (unlikely but you never know). I don't think Lindholm gets enough love. His minutes aren't as grueling as risto but he's only 22 and is in the top 10/5 in a lot of defensive categories.

A Risto-Hampus pairing would be a real treat watch for the next decade or so

I think Lindholm is a great young defensemen, but he is young and he could regress, there's no guarantee on him just yet, but he does seem promising. I just don't want to overpay for him, it seems like we're getting that reputation that our G.M. will gladly overpay. I would do Girgensons, Ennis, next years first for him.

Is this not 100% true though? I mean to get the guy he wants there's likely no limit, as long as the deal doesn't include a core player he'll likely pay up.
