Allegedly. The rules aren't set in stone yet and we don't know all the info. I'm under the impression NTCs don not count but NMCs do. And, on that note, I think that NTCs should automatically count. The GM gave that player that piece and it's his fault if he doesn't like it anymore. If GMs don't like it they shouldn't give them which is the best idea.

I agree that the GMs are ultimately to blame, and you can't fault the players for taking what's available to them. The Moulson situation is just irritating...he's a terrible player now, yet he's got the Sabres held hostage with that contract.

Follow up from last blog...Are there a max number of players an expansion team could take from another? I assume there would be or one team could be decimated and you would see a lot of teams grabbing in division players to lessen the strength of their common adversaries. However, it would be interesting to know...if they get one or two is that it?

Yep and just like the Clarkson contract or the Phaenuf contract or the Yashin contract we'll either live with it or have to find a way to trade the untradeable. But I hope it taught Murray a thing about handing out big contracts. If you're going to do one with older guys at least don't give them NTCs

Each team can only lose one player per team being added, so if only one team is added only one player can be taken from any one team.

One thing I'm sort of pondering is how much time should we waste imagining who will be chosen in an expansion draft. Maybe we don't want to lose 28 (or any other random player) but there is no way tell that our player will even be picked. We would have to see all 30 teams' lists of exposed players at the expansion time. Sure, some like Gus and don't want to lose him, but why would he be the best available player at the time when other teams with other players will be in the same boat?

I think Prindham may have foresaw the likelihood of expansion and thus helped the decision of moving Phil and Dion before it was too late and they had to protect them. Expansion sucks to existing teams in general but it's happened numerous times before. You'll be fine

I like Ruhweedel in tonite. Can't say I've seen him in Rochester but I thought in his previous call ups he was solid enough for a kid. Now he's a year older and I have to think he plays better than Coli has ever has, at least.

Depending on how much roster overhaul is done Bailey will likely be one of the except players. Of current constructed roster. I see the list being
