They might not get the extra pieces...
But if the best they get is a #2, then they would more likely trade Eberle or RNH

Just think...
Would u trade Reinhart for Girgs + Pysyk?

- jdfitz77

And a top 8 pick, if I already had Eichel and a Reinhart already in Draisatl, especially if I was sorely lacking in quality depth at a place where I had a hard time getting players to sign as FA's?

But even a #2 defenseman is a MUCH bigger need than trading for a 3rd line center & a 4/5 type defenseman

Plus, if Hall were on the market, someone would offer a better deal
If it was pick 5 & they were getting Chychrun...
Then I think that trade would get done for sure

The only mistake Lindy made that night was not beating the poop out of Bryan Murray when that (frank) refused to come over the glass

Yeah, so clean it precipitated a line brawl, a goalie fight and a skater fighting a goalie and almost precipitated a coach fight. But yeah, it was totally clean.

no doubt.....but Richard moves are part of hockey.....all hockey players are Richards (myself included )

that being said, if someone did that to karlsson, i'd expect his ass handed to him. kind of surprised nobody tried to go with neil

- sensarmy_11

I honestly don't think anyone really saw it. He(Neil) was screened by a couple guys.

Not sure what's worse .......... being a fan of a team like the Senators and watching them piss the season away at a slow drip or the Sabres who start playing like it matters long after it really did.
- fastek

I honestly just think it's taken this long for everyone to get used to each other. People were not giving enough credence to the fact of the turnover and new coaches/system. It takes way longer than people want to believe. It takes a full season pretty much for just a new system with established players. But we had neither a system nor established players.

Who is playing significant time up front that played significant time last year? Girgensons that's it. And he's gotten Richard for ice time lately. Gionta somewhat too, but he's been playing less and less relative to November and December as well. But we had no Kane, ROR, Eichel and Reinhart and worse still they were all playing on different teams in different leagues.

On the backend you have Risto. And Bogo somewhat the last 2 months of last year and he has been dealing with a nagging injury until the last few weeks or so when his game has finally picked up. Gorges too. Weber I guess, although I wouldn't exactly consider his playing time this year "Significant". McCabe and Pysyk at least played together in Roc.

Throw all of those guys together in a new system and you have the time to jell plus the time to learn the system and it's tough to get anything done, but the past month or so they've made some big strides. Sure they've taken their lumps too, but they've played a much more complete "team" game. The passing has been extraordinary the past little while here, guys are confident they know where their mates are going to be, and that's huge.

Plus the fact we've played the majority of the season with a guy who's never played on NA ice and a career backup in goal. And Lehner has as many minutes as Ullmark. And clearly still has the ankle nagging him as evidenced by the unscheduled time off last week and now seems to be shut down. And he was playing nothing short of excellent when you factor in not playing for almost a year except for training camp/preseason which doesn't really count for all that much. Compared to last year he's a half a goal a game better and 2 full percentage points, well 1.9%, better in SV% while hurt. That's extraordinary.

Also we've been without our best player from last year for the last 50 games. That's not any kind of recipe for success. Or consistency.

lol just watched the Risto Chiasson "fight" Chiasson tried to pull a Kaleta, but stupidly dropped his gloves so he got the major too.

This is a classic Bandit post: good analysis, strong grasp of facts, logical contention fully supported by fair truths.

The team actually started to show signs of this "extraordinary" stuff in December. Things were starting to come together and they were really playing well, but the schedule was brutal and they were achieving mixed results. In January, they slumped a bit; and then ROR went out and the caledar just ran short

This team, as its built NOW, is going to turn heads next season. I am so so thrilled to think where we'll go after GMTM has an offseason to work his Magic, and time heals some long and lingering injuries.

even though I thought the hit on drury was clean, and legal

there is no excuse for 19 sabres not to pile on neil after the play
