I did like the segment praising Ghost and Provorov.

You know Pierre was wincing when he was commenting on how gifted our young defensive talent is.

So, with this whole "Panarin is not a rookie" talk, it got me thinking about "true rookies."

If a guy comes in at, say, 22 after playing 2 years in the AHL, is he a "rookie?"

Was Matt Read a "rookie" his first year?

Shayne Gostisbehere is 22 going on 23 compared to guys under 20 like Larkin and Eichel. Should that be taken into consideration?

- jmatchett383

Haha this is the exact argument for me. Same thing is said about Ghost with regards to games played...he has done it all in fewer games! But McDavid wont play enough games ...Being a rookie is being a rookie, I think. It is a stupid trophy anyway, not the one that matters. Being older gives them an advantage and it should take nothing away from what the younger guys are doing

blah blah anti flyers blah blah

Roenick actually complemented the Flyers and both their goalies last night

That and watching Amac score (well at the time, they took the goal away) had me convinced I was in an alternate universe.

Also felt 99% certain Hawks would tie it up in the last minute and win a shootout 2-0.

Freaky and fun this run they are on.

Observations from last night:

Frank the Chicago fans for behaving poorly during the national anthem
Frank Patrick Kane
Frank Chelsea Dagger
Panarin is really good but frank him, he's not a rookie

It's terrifying every time he touches the puck. Seems like he creates a quality scoring chance every shift.

Second night of a back to back, on the road against the most talented team in the NHL.... that is about as a good a win as any team can have. That was really impressive.

I'd assume Jake will be ready Saturday. I'd sit VDV for sure. Two terrible penalties last night. He had all the time and space in the world, how the hell did he air mail the puck over the glass? Put them 2 men short. That essentially is the game there if the Hawks go up 2-0. I wouldn't be surprised if the League has a look at the elbow he hit Toews with.

Can we somehow scratch Streit as well? He was never fast, but he was able to make good, quick decisions. Now, he seems to have his feet in concrete and plays hot potato, and whenever the puck goes to him on the PP, it's likely getting iced by the PK.

The NBC (Blackhawk) announcer thought he would get a call and a suspension from the league in that.

I think he'll get a call and a fine. Had Toews been hurt, likely 10 games.

Because ruling on result makes sense.

So Voracek gets hurt. AMAC plays the 1st pair. Top 6 of G, Simmonds, Schenn, Couturier, Raffl, and GANGER and this is how they squeak into playoff position.

Ill bet Pierre has Crosby posters in his room. Under black light they probably look like Jackson Pollack paintings.

It is just one of several pieces of evidence that the league is not with the times on taking injuries seriously

OT did you find out if you had an 05 or 06 civic yet?

His time is coming to an end. Could be moved in offseason or at draft. But I agree with your statement of him playing hot potato.

I think he'll get a fine but would not be surprised a bit if he's suspended.

Blatant elbow to the head vs league superstar.

Read was a rookie, and had a bit of calder buzz. Bob McKenzie picked him as a darkhorse candidate iirc

I know MJL is laughing. He said over and over that if the young players start playing up to their potential, this team is a playoff team now.

As opposed to everyone else who said they were a surefire miss if the young players played to their potential.
