Man that was such a huge win. Great game. Loved cheering every time the flyers scored in a bar full of doosh hawks fans. |

You are making my argument. He is a rookie. What do you expect? 25 goals? - MBFlyerfan
No...but I listed reasons why I would play him even with his lack of offense. None of which I see. Like I said, he's young and I get it...but as of now, he's just a body on the ice. |

So whose the scratch Saturday? I'm casting my vote for gagner. I like how the bottom 6 is playing right now. Voracek for gagner is a seamless transition - Just5
I think that is probably who it is going to be. Though I think on merit it should probably be Laughton. |

Cheap head shot by CV. He should've gotten more than two. |

But you said he was "expendable and brings nothing". That is the kind of bullpoop WIP hyperbole I was talking about.
Now if you had just said he is not producing where he should be, or he is still young and might need to see some time in the pressbox, I would agree with you.

I think laughton has played well, while not showing up in his offensive numbers. He is winning way more 50/50 pucks than earlier in the year and is making simple effective plays with the puck.

I bet you were a Baby Schenn hater too
He is contributing the least given his current role, which is why I think he will be a healthy scratch, but he needs to play in order to learn and progress. He is too good for the AHL and has shown great potential. He is certainly on the short list to be scratched depending on where Hakstol sees Jake coming back into the lineup because of the importance of each game |

That was not good.
I'd actually like to see VDV take a seat, but I don't think Hakstol will allow that to happen. |

hear me out...if he gets suspended (no injury so...) for lets say 2 games and the flyers play their best 2 games of the season....does he stay out of the lineup? |

Ahh...perhaps my wording was a little harsh on the young lad. I guess I just get rattled when I see players who work their butts off get ripped (4th line guys) and guys like Laughton get a pass. I expect more hunger from him, but w/e. |

Personally I would sit VDV, move Raffl to the 4th line and the penalty kill, and slide Jake on to the 2nd line with Coots and Gagner.

The NBC (Blackhawk) announcer thought he would get a call and a suspension from the league in that.

Aren't they hesitant to hand out suspensions if there was no injury as a result of the hit? |

I don't understand why people defend this guy. With 102 GP, he has 8G, 17A and has a whopping 5.8 S%. Ok, I would be willing to turn the other way if he 1) wins board battles and creates room 2) worked as hard as the 4th line (I don't see the hustle there, i'm sorry) 3) or is a physical presence at least (aka, Rinaldo minus the stupid penalties). At least that stiff made other teams realize he was on the ice.
Of course the sun shines on a dog's arse someday with that wrist shot in the CBJ game. He's my beatdown boy on this team. - Corporate_hater
He's a great skater and he has improved at left wing. He's not making dynamic plays but I'm pretty sure he's being asked to keep it simple, move pucks up the ice, etc. |

Yes but they are not consistent
Plus it's s 4th liner hitting Captain Serious so a perfect chance to show everyone how tough they enforce things
But when Weber smashed zetterberg's head WWF style a few playoffs ago they ignore that poop |

So, with this whole "Panarin is not a rookie" talk, it got me thinking about "true rookies."
If a guy comes in at, say, 22 after playing 2 years in the AHL, is he a "rookie?"
Was Matt Read a "rookie" his first year?
Shayne Gostisbehere is 22 going on 23 compared to guys under 20 like Larkin and Eichel. Should that be taken into consideration? |

If he's not dangling, putting up huge goal totals, destroying people with hits, or fighting, he sucks.
