There's an interesting poll on HFB of what players you would protect for a potential 2017 expansion draft. For the forwards the core five of G, Jake, Coots, Simmer and Schenn are all at 100%. Then there's a three way race between Laughton, Raffl and Cousins for the final two spots with Laughton (somewhat surprisingly in my view) comfortably in the lead.

On defense MDZ, Gudas, and Ghost are the runaway leaders. Hagg is 4th, getting votes from people who aren't sure if MDZ is going to be extended by then.

In goal Mason has most of the votes, but Stolarz is ahead of Neuvirth.

agree. he led with the elbow - which is a penalty, but i think he was aiming for the body and just missed. he misses everything else, so it kind of makes sense.

should have been 5/10 even though it looked accidental.

it's also the probably only way he's coming out of the lineup.

With stolarz being eligible. The goalie is going to be the toughest for sure. Mase or stolarz? They have time to figure it out and also choose between laughts/Raffl/cousins. Initial feeling is cousins would be my odd man out

i don't see them - i.e. hextall - moving stolarz as he's taking the next step with an outstanding ahl season in his 2nd year of pro. neuvirth is a very attractive commodity with a fairly proven track record while he's had an excellent season on a mediocre team.

we have to remember there are only 2 potential teams coming board - so it's not like a goalie is going to be taken from every team. they only need 4 total. very possible none of ours are taken. and really, if popular opinion accounts for anything why would ANYBODY want a philly goalie since hextall...obviously every single one of them has sucked and the are THE reason they haven't won a cup. so i think we're good.

Gudas might not have a high Flow/60, but his Beard/60 has to be near the top of the team next to G and Voracek.
