And can you imagine the heads that would roll here if they did pull of that trade and then that person has a below average year....

Ben Hutton is a d-man, not a forward.

The Bills should have named Jim Schwartz as Head coach, team would be a hell of a lot better and better off. Sorry just had to say that, tired of losing.
- SABRES 89

The losing is gonna continue. The Bills have a lot of holes and no money under the cap to get help. How the hell are they so close to the cap without paying for a star QB? Very poor management.

Finally a logical, everybody wins, hockey trade! Do we need to give up the 3rd rounder?

I don't follow the Bills much because in all honesty what's the point... but didn't they just release a ton of players to open up cap space? How the hell can a franchise be so poorly run for so long?

I know a lot of people didn't like Vanek but you put him with 90 or 15 and see what happens.
- SABRES 89

If that means removing Reinhart from that group, it's a downgrade.

overpaying blah players

glenn
wood
darieus
p williams
gilmore

you can't win in this game w/o quality depth (I said their D depth was bad before the season last year and got ripped), and w/o difference makers

when they have to pay taylor 17-20 per, they will really be screwed cap wise

trade 2 first for watkins
hold on to mckelvin way too long
overpay the d line
really bad lb's
not addressing the o line with quality players
blah drafting
lack of depth
thinking woods is a legit number 2 wr
poor special teams coaching
fielding a team that lacks discipline
bad assistant coaches

I could go on, I really could

Proven NHLer who Has made his way in to the top six for falling prospect w nothing but "potential". The Third just seals the deal.

They gave them too long imo.

But in reality if you dont have players to play against the stammers, toews, crosbys of the world, the road only goes so far.

- yen6d1

What happened IMO is Darcy was never really able to complete the team ....... they were always a couple of key players away. The problem wasn't the core ..... they were a pretty good group. Sort of what was referred to earlier ........... the Sabres keep average players around too long and are never really able to fill out the 3rd and 4th lines effectively. Too bad too ............ with Miller in his prime they should have gone farther. In many ways those teams remind me of this team today ........ just not enough scoring.

I was here and watched it all live. It was 100% the opposite.

The fill ins were OK to do what they were supposed to do. The core was never good enough, and didn't have the passion to play over their heads.

I think when this team is complete, you will see a much better d core, and 3 quality lines with a much better 4th line then we had in the day

pommer, jp, briere and drury

that was it for players that brought it on a regular basis during the day

hecht was a 3rd liner playing up a few lines
vanek was whatever you call him
roy was fine for 3rd line, never ready to make that leap
kotalik was blah
grier was a nice playoff guy that darcy f'd up and let walk only to bring him back past his prime
connolly was the last player dracy should have counted on to anchor anything
max was max

and the d was average at best, aside from soupy and mckee

Life is too short to waste on the Bills, I'd seriously would rather go apple picking in the fall than watch this joke of a franchise. I'll admit this proudly: I don't think I'll bother with the Bills again until they make the playoffs. If that makes me a ban wagon fan, so be it. I have spent decades of my life following them and have spent tens of thousands going to games in support, and all I've got in return is disappointment.
