Saturdays game after 2 periods Gus had 6:49 minutes of ice time, Larsson 10:53 I believe.
- SABRES 89

that line has been the sabres best line for the last 10 games or so...the other line that's been rolling is the Eichel, kane, reinhart line...so...where does everyone else fall in?

Gus has ? Larsson has been outplaying him for longer then 10 games.
- SABRES 89

it sure doesn't show in his stats...one more goal than gus, and a plus/minus rating much worse...

how's that outplaying him on the season?

The point is, why does a guy that is a 4th line player have more ice time then your 3rd line or in the Sabres case top 6 player ?

Meh, there is no point in making assumptions at this point. Panarin is a good player and deserves to win if he keeps up his production. One can easily say if McDavid never got hurt he would be leading this race by a country mile. Eichel is doing great regardless if he wins or not.
- ShayneCorsi

I'm not taking anything away from Panarin. Great player and deserving .Was just trying to point out that the Sabres could use a consistent scorer.

The Bills should have named Jim Schwartz as Head coach, team would be a hell of a lot better and better off. Sorry just had to say that, tired of losing.

Larsson plays a more structured game. Hustle/ effort is great but if it's not achieving anything it's almost pointless.

no...i'm watching the same game as y'all...what I saw was two players struggling to produce through much of the season, as was the team...one player has gotten hot lately because he's on a line that clicks and another that's been bounced around all season...yet the former, who's been "hot" lately, still trails the latter in point production

I don't get it

before Bylsma found chemistry with Gionta, Larsson and Foligno, Gionta was a bum who couldn't be traded fast enough, Larsson was stuck in a slump that had him with 2 goals in 54 games and the only reason that Foligno is still in the nhl was because of his name...

now they're the teams second line?

I don't get it

- Michael Pachla

Even if that was the reason, there is no excuse to not get Gus involved in the second team pp and more pk time.

J Staal was able to get close to 20 minutes a night on the third line under this coach, gus struggles to get 13 minutes lately

A stretch of 10-20 great games, and he's now making 28 expendable? 82 had that stretch a few years ago, and he's a nothing. Why can't both stay? They won't be expensive to keep, and they'll likely be short term bridge deals. But in no way am I giving up on 28 because Larsson has had a strong month here.

larsson, bailey, fasching, girgens, foligno, ennis

IMO you pick 3 for your third line and use the others to try to package to upgrade the top half of the roster

Unless your number is 90, 15, 23 or 55. nobody on this team is untouchable to make this team better.

and half came in like 2 games with the eichel effect... should larsson have better numbers? sure, but watching the games it's near impossible to say larsson doesn't play a more complete game

he played sporadically with Eichel...so did Larsson...and Larsson also had the benefit of some first unit pp time yet he's produced less than the "never-a-top-six, friggen'-super-bum" Girgensons

so, Larsson does?

overrated bum girgensons: 59 games, 5 goals, 9 assists, minus-2
second line god Larsson: 63 games, 6 goals, 4 assists, minus-7

I don't get it

- Michael Pachla

I don't think it's hate on Girgensons, I just think people expected more after he took the team by storm the past two years. The same thing happened with Foligno when he first got called up in 2011. At this point, imo Larsson is not that far away from being another Girgensons (a shutdown 3rd line center) Girgs may be still better right now, but he also brings back more as a trade piece. With Girgensons injuries, I would be fine with shipping him out of here as a cornerstone piece in lets say a trade for Drouin. Larsson seems capable of taking over his role, and if Girgs + can bring us a top 6 winger, than do it.

Those 4 are a perfect example of how far behind talent wise this team has been the last 3 years.

I'm overreacting because a guy that's in the top 6 has no business there but some seem him as the " chosen one " and i'm overreacting ? no, just tired of seeing this team suck

underperforming

nothing more
nothing less

the way he blends in with the ice, where I don't see him, reminds me way too much of the suck sisters
