People make to much of top 6. It's all about chemistry and how players fit. Look at who is on the top 6 of many of the top teams. You will see players that you'd definitely think are 3rd liners at best

So it seems the majority on here want us to tank again . I just dont understand how you guys can love a team so much and then root against them.

Youre all on here saying how much edmonton is the scum of the league because they keep getting all these top picks yet when we get them its okay.

You dont just go from last in the league to first in one year you have to gradually work your way up. We gain better spots each season. There's no hey lets get the first pick so we can make the stanley cup next year.

For God sake is it too much to ask for a fan to actually want us to win? We have guys that need to understand what its like to win and how to do it, not lose every chance we get.

Then my last point...i can very very easily point to edmonton and show you that getting those top picks year after year doesnt work. All that talent and nothing to show for it in the standings. Maintain a winning culture and have some self respect, it might get you farther.

rant over.

He has no business being in the top 6, he is not a top 6 player. 3rd line player not top 6
- SABRES 89

I don't understand why the majority of fans handle him with kid gloves and still have high expectations

again he is an ok player, but a 3rd liner that has clearly fallen behind larsson on the coaches depth chart

Too late in the season for a run at a playoff spot. So might as well try and capitalize on a great pick. It's either playoffs or top pick. The team has made the choice for us this season.

If he needs Jack Eichel to produce, he's not that good anyways. The sample size of him and Eichel being together (less than 20 games) is small.

I like Girgensons, but something is up with him and Bylsma

Why?

U don't need your best 6 players in the top6
If he & Eichel work well together, that's all that matters

If that's true...
Then how come Murray AND Bylsma keep talking about him looking good on Jack's wing?

I don't understand why fans who want to see this team win a cup some day have a hard time understanding that having a top 5 picks is better than having a top 10 pick. The past 20 years of hockey I have watched I have seen the sabres draft in the middle of the draft. How many of those players turned into studs? Not many... Vanek being the best 1st rounder in the past 15 years. That's bad.

THIS!!!

I always bring up Detroit as a great example

Abdelkader on top line with Zetterberg
Helm on 2nd line with Datsyuk
Nyquist & Tatar on 3rd line

Nothing wrong with balancing out your top3 lines
Most successful teams do it

Then explain Detroit

And do u remember the last time we were good?
U really gonna say that Grier or Hecht were better than Vanek or Pominville?

Balancing out your top 3 lines is smart

Eichel needs a scoring winger not a checking 3rd line center that's playing wing, and we wonder why this team has issues.

I don't have to explain Detroit, Eichel needs a winger that can score, people put to much into Girgensons, a player that may not even be here.

Why can't he have both?
Surely someone out there creating space for Jack to do the things he's good at with a winger that is of similar mind set to finish off what Jack sets up would be a good thing no?

And Washington, and the Rangers, and the Kings, and the Sharks...
Etc, etc, etc

Almost all good teams balance their top3 lines instead of loading up their top 2

Just about every good team balances out their top 3 lines instead of loading up their top 2

U can continue refuse to admit this if u want
But it's true

U act like Girgensons is Kaleta
He was on pace for 20 goals last year!
Got drafted something like 15th for a reason. The kid has talent
