IMO, you just mentioned everyone who is on the block. Id be surprised if more than 1 or 2 were still here next year.

Could be they realized they still have a chance with games left to lose.

This winning needs to come to a stop, along with the overtime points.

The Leafs didn't try to be this bad, really, until James van Riemsdyk was injured. They played hard with their best lineup

I don't think he really understands the definition of tanking

I feel like if Girgensons gets to be a true 3rd line center playing against other 3rd lines and with some capable line mates, we may see him return to decent form. He's 22 and his stock aint very high right now, but he's basically been a swiss army knife for Bylsma and hasn't complained about it at all. I'd be fine with a bridge deal carrying him for another 2 or 3 years and deal with the outcome either way when he's up for his next contract.
There's so many hurdles to get rid of Moulson, i can't imagine him going anywhere.
Pretty much "yes" to the rest of your concerns.

Some retaining addition of picks and/or taking deal back could make it work.

I don't think he comes straight to Buffalo. He might be best suited with some Rochester time. And this is still assuming we're getting Stamkos.

Kane-Eichel-Girgensons
Moulson-O'Reilly-Samsonite
Foligno-Larrson-Girgs
Deslauries-Schaller-(FA/AHL)

Risto-Gorges
(Defenseman traded for Ennis ++)-Bogo
Pysyk-McCabe
Franson

- Zschalberg

Girgs on Line #1 and Mpulsen on Line #2 looks very weak to me?? You have Gigs on line #3, so something needs to change there

Yeah hopefully Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart fall short of expectations so we can stay in the bottom of the league and keep picking top 2 indefinitely.

Pretty sure it went off Johnson's stick and out to Eichel, at least that's what I thought I saw last night...now i gotta look again.
- stashu

that's one of the problems with the secondary assist...last game o'reilly worked the half-wall to get the puck to Moulson who tipped the pass to Eichel...last night we're talking about who deflected the puck deep in their own zone for the secondary assist

If those are the lines going into next year I 100% expect us to be at the bottom of the NHL again. Moulson shouldn't touch the top 6 and neither should Zemgus IMO. We need to add a winger for Eichel and that Defense needs at least two new faces that can play on the top 4

Agreed, in particular for defencemen. So many secondary assists for them include plays like a great breakout pass or great defensive play and then transitioning to offence or a great keep at the blueline etc..

i hear ya...but at least their goal was to go on the offensive or keep the offense going, that secondary assist last night was a tipped puck from their own goal while trying to play defense...

*shrugs*...the nhl wants point, so that's what we get

Moulson has to say yes to a trade, correct?
I'm hoping he just comes back strong after a good summer or we're fugged.

I mis understood the point you were making

I wish they could decide when to award the 2nd assist (i.e if they play is worthy of one)

We'll be fine no matter what. If you believe we have a good organization with smart people making good choices. It will work out. Then again getting the miracle lottery win couldn't hurt either.
