Hello, professor. How are you?

Enjoying the play of late. About as happy as Hammarby just after he tells an opposing team to "suck it".

i didn't notice the elbow. will have to take a look at that replay. absolute legit goal.
- hammarby31

Ok, maybe I saw it a little different when the game was live...elbow on the back, kinda traveled up to the head... Still had a direct influence on Gagner getting tangled with the goalie.

Any updates on Jake? I keep reading that he'll be back for the March 15th Detroit game. Hopefully he can regain his form pretty quick.

Who sits? I like Cousins in the lineup. Laughton has been better. Can't complain about Gagner. I also don't want to mess with the "4th line". Going to be a tough decision. I hope all of the above keep up the good play and make it hard on Hakstol.

I mean I get the instinct to tinker with them, but in all they are fairly solid. By no means will they ever be mistaken for the 87 Oilers but they dump, chase and cycle when needed and don't give up stuff the other way. Maybe VDV sits a game and they move Laughton to that line? I don't know.

I know I like Cousins in there. He reminds me of Jonsey. Always knows just what to say

I just disagree about the 4th line. They get hemmed in a lot and they aren't particularly good PKers.

Use protection or you might catch a nasty VDV, and you don't want that. Trust me.

i'm liking cousins. and i'm liking gagner. i'm also eager to see v back. i dunno. vdv could take a seat. but i'm assuming he stays and it's cousins or gagner that will go to the cote suite.

Let's say they take VDV out. Who goes to the 4th line?

I feel like coaches are always hesitant to break up 4th lines

Likely Laughton or Gagner. Probably Laughton.

So it seems like there will not be any Canadian teams in the playoffs this year.

Can someone tell me what the logic behind having uneven conference team numbers is? 16 vs 14? Besides the travel logistics bs.. Columbus could easily be in the West (its not that far from Chicago).

Whenever Quebec and Las Vegas are added, that means there will have to be a restructure again

Interesting. I'm guessing V is on Coots line and Gagner's out. A lot can happen in a week though.

Cousins is almost certainly the man out, especially (hopefully) if they are still right there on the bubble behind Detroit and Pitt. VDV, PEB and White have been fairly reliable all season, gotten the job they've been asked to do done, and Hak isn't going to mess with them now. At least that's my take.

Except when they think Voracek should be on the 4th line.

I like what I've seen from Cousins at center. I would rather roll with him at 3C from here on out. Laughton has also looked a lot better since moving to wing. I don't want to see Gagner or Laughton at Center again this season unless it's absolutely necessary.

The 4th line guys have been getting crushed at even strength all year. They aren't even good on the PK. I just don't understand why VDV or White can't sit. They offer the team next to nothing. Sitting Gagner or Cousins instead of White and VDV just makes the team worse.

I hate to say it, but I agree. Hopefully Cousins can make the decision difficult.
