Neuvirth has been better overall, but he has struggled lately. Mason was able to stay focused when he hadn't been tested much when he saw that barrage on the late PP. He played well and, to me, should get the start.

Also, although the points have been hard to come by, I'm not worried about Ghost. He's still driving offense and creating chances, the pucks just aren't going in. He seems to have the mental drive to keep it up. Getting Voracek as a legit scoring threat on the other side of the PP would help, as teams are cheating between Giroux and Ghost right now.
- jmatchett383

I would almost move Gostisbehere into Voracek's spot on the PP and keep Streit at the top. Gostisbehere can always float a little higher if he wants and he has the ability to shoot that one timer almost where ever the puck is.

I think a couple times you have seen it where Gostisbehere and Streit kind of switch to show a different look a little.

Can I just say how exciting it is to actually watch good hockey and not be talking about the Flyers tanking or losing for higher picks.

I know we would love to be drafting higher but this is much better and maybe could do more for the team for the team if they were able to get in.

His point production (and especially goal scoring) was a result of a lot of good luck. I knew the slump would come, but I agree with you. He is still doing all the same things right. There have been several times I have noticed he would be getting a tertiary assist. Maybe AMac is stealing all his luck
- YuenglingJagr

AMac hasn't looked bad really, but he and Ghost don't seem well suited for each other. I'm not saying I want Manning in, but the pairing just doesn't seem right. AMac just seems timid, and Ghost needs a more confident player. With Manning, he knew what Manning was going to do (whether or not it was the right thing is a different matter). With AMac, you never know if they guy's gonna hang back, join the rush, or go half-and-half.

The wings goalies are also having issues right now and Larkin is finding his rookie slump. Double monkey fist lock finger cross it continues. I'm not as optimistic as Jasq, I think DET is pretty much the only chance of making it in. Sure statistically that isn't true but all of those teams are playing well right now while DET is closest and stumbling a bit. A few loses here and we will be talking draft again.

We may have the tougher schedule of the 3 teams.

It's not a bad idea, but Streit has gone back to October/November Streit. He just looks bad out there and is just taking up space on PP1. Giroux and Ghost seem to have a good chemistry on the one-timers, it's just a matter of getting a passing lane.

I noticed that as well and really liked it. Streit is good at getting pucks through but he looks kind of pointless over on the right side. Ghosts ability to one time the puck and jump up into the play looks a lot more dangerous. I would really like to see them flip

I like the idea of flip flopping Jake and Ghost as soon as Jake gets back. Jake is a very good puck mover.. great vision and what not. Also, Ghost's biggest strength on the PP is his one timer. Get him on top of the far circle and let him fire away... He isnt a shoot for a deflection guy either so lets see how Jake can do at that spot.

I'm hoping Hakstol is really forcing our top line to be on the ice as much as possible tonight. We have 3 days off after tonight's match up and we need these points. We've gotta force Bishop into a bad game. I'm hoping tonight there will be no favors of ice time, our best players have to be our best players. Tonight I think match ups are key and there will be very little room for error.

I wouldn't flip flop Jake and Ghost. The chemistry and ability to play catch between Ghost and G is huge. Ghost's point shot is huge. Ghost is also a defenseman and is going to be (has to be) the first one back if the other team clears the luck or forces the puck out of the zone for a possible scoring chance.

Not permanently, but to get a look. I think Ghosts shot would be deadly on that far circle...

Yeah.

They really need another guy who can bring it from the back. Other then Gostisbehere they don't really have anyone that can drop the hammer.

Vorecek really isn't a great shooter. Watching Provorov he doesn't have the cannon gostisbehere does but he has a better shot then Streit.

The most vital thing is to keep pace with Detroit, Pittsburgh and even teams like the Isles and Rangers.

If they can keep pace with the Red Wings and Penguins, they really hold their own destiny in hand. With 18 games left, they have 5 against the two primary teams they are chasing. Keeping pace and beating the Wings and Pens head to head gets them into the playoffs.

- Jsaquella

It's too much. The weekend in feb where the lost to devils/Rangers back to back is what broke them. They are facing good teams upcoming who are looking to ramp up their play for the playoffs. It would be different facing good teams in December as flyers have proven

The Flyers aren't going to Florida early for any fishing or 'team bonding' expeditions, are they? That hardly ever works down there...
