Probably their best "team" effort of the year. Kane and Eichel seem to finally be jelling a bit.

You're right, we were 10th last week.

So we actually moved down 2 spots, yet moved up in the standings.

Any other ways to help prove my point would be appreciated as well

sigh...

Sabres special teams scored fully half of the Sabres 8 non empty-net goals this week 3 PP, 1 SH Sabres got points in the 2 games they scored on the PP. We moved up in the standings solely based on special teams.

The 2 goals they scored against Calgary were big goals. Foligno scored short handed to put the Sabres in the lead 2-1. Eichel scored on the PP to put the Sabres up 2 5-3 with still 7:14 left.

We got a point despite the fact that we couldn't score more than one goal vs the Oilers because of Lehner's stellar play.

And obviously we all know what happened today. If it weren't for the double-minor to Niederreiter they wouldn't have scored at all.

I stopped reading when you called yourself a pro.

Again, do the research. It's not hard to find.

How is that even possible? Labs aren't exactly the brightest of dogs in the first place. Second, it would've had to put the clutch in, disengage the air brakes, put it in gear, releasing the clutch all the while not stalling. That's damn impressive. Driving a semi tractor with no experience is extremely difficult, there can be like 24 gears! They're kind of like a bicycle in that they have 3 or 4 "main" gears and 6 to 8 "secondary" gears per main gear. I'm guessing the driver was drunk/high on amphetamines or something, (frank)ed up and bailed out before anyone saw, or maybe got a little too frisky with a "lot lizard" and "slipped it into gear". But that is hilarious.

Hockey Gods were kind to us tonight as Canucks, Yotes, Jets and Flames all won. Sabres have games in hand on pretty much all of them so I guess there's still hope but picking up points in every game is not gonna cut it I'm afraid.

I don't remember if I saw this in here in the last blog, or if I saw it while reading the news, but... http://www.sportsnet.ca/h...s-for-crossbars-blueline/ Probably what they should've done the whole time to actually get a good angle on whether a play is offside or not. And the camera in the crossbar sounds like a pretty cool idea. I'm not sure if it's going to be downward facing or outward facing or both. But it would definitely help in definitively telling whether a puck fully crossed the line. It can't hurt. More angles=better calls.

i don't know why everybody want we trade ennis. He is the only skill hand player we have in the organisation. He have a bad season with injuries but he have 3 20goals season and he is a shootout player. Pleas keep this skill players, trade the 1pick for a 1Dman, maybe KEVIN SHATTENKIRK is a good fit? We need a 1dman with a good first pass !!!

A little off topic but on these boards whenever the thought of stamkos as a sabre comes up it then turns into the question of who moves to wing - Eichel, ROR, or Stamkos. Seems like most assume all our talent has to be confined in the top 6. But wouldn't it make more sense to have them each center a line? We do need to upgrade our wingers but if we do basic pairings like Bylsma often does it could be something like:

ROR/Kane
Stamkos/Ennis
Eichel/Reinhart

And if we are down in the third then you roll those 6 guys to two lines. I guess I'm just surprised that the idea of having 3 potential offensive lines is rarely brought up*

* and yes, getting stamkos is a huge IF

Just the Buffalo way . Fans do not have patience or understand sometimes players go through rough patches.

People want to trade him because he has had a bad, injury prone season, it's just the nature of sports fans. If comes back next year and nets 25 nobody will want to move him at the deadline. You can also look at Lehner, his trade got a lot of jeers from many people, but the way he's played since coming back from injury is making the trade not look so bad anymore. Give the guy two more seasons as a #1 with having made the playoffs and the trade will look like a steal.

I would sound good in theory, but how can you realistically have any of those guys on your 3rd line? And what you have her Eichel/Reinhart 3rd line? That's a waste of talent for the ice team they'd be getting, and what happens when you have to pay them? You would have at least 14 million tied up in a 3rd line when cup winning teams usually have less than 5 million. I just don't think the numbers would ever allow it to work.

I'd love to have him, we need LW. And he'll be an RFA and Ottawa will have to pay him big. He's scored 30, 27 last 2 years and has 25 so far this year. Knowing Ottawa's budget they might not be willing to pay him 4-5 per. Maybe another trade with the Sens at the draft?

What would you offer up for Hoffman?

Cheers!

No way Eichel and Reinhart gets pushed down to the 3rd line if we get Stamkos. Your best option is have Stamkos and Eichel center top 2 lines, keep Reinhart at RW and move ROR to LW.

ROR-Stamkos-Reinhart
Kane-Eichel-?

I think the problem is numbering lines. All three lines could play 17-20 mins. Nobody is on a typical 3rd line. You'd just have 3 scoring lines

ROR is probably the most natural center of the three. Best at Faceoffs, best defensively. He came here to be a center and stamkos hates playing wing. So the only option when you try to jam all the talent in the top 6 is to put Eichel on the wing. Personally I don't like that
