Flyers defensemen

Player A: Team LEADING +20 Scoring chance differential
Player B: Team WORST -38 Scoring chance differential

Any guesses?

Before I answer this, what is the criteria for a "scoring chance?"

The entire altercation was all on the Flyers.

I thought it was on Hall for giving Ghost a shot as Ghost was skating to the bench. There's apparently a Sons of Penn article that shows it, but I can't get the page to load.

Edit:

If I could pick anybody to have my back, it'd be Wayne Simmonds. He looked like he was ready to take on every Oiler on the ice, and probably wouldn't have done too bad if it came to that.

DON'T fight Wayne Simmonds.

What's the team record when player A plays?

His stats are just so much better than the others. He plays a more Russian/modern form of hockey, which sometimes leads to ugly turnovers. For the most part, though, he helps the Flyers keep possession as they move through the neutral zone. For all of his gaffs, the team is decidedly better when he's on the ice. Going from him to Manning is eye opening.
- PhillySportsGuy

Can't argue with this. Again, he the best of a crappy bunch. On a good NHL team he's a 4/5 guy at best. The problem is that on a GOOD NHL team, AMac and Schultz are generic 3rd pair guys and Manning is a 7th man or the in AHL and 1st call up. Provorov and company can't arrive soon enough!

No. Just stating that Nuevirth gets a relatively free pass while Mason gets killed for every goal he lets in.

Flyers lose 2-1 with Mason: "Well, if Mason had made those 2 stops..."
Flyers lose 4-0 with Neuvirth: "Man, the forwards and defense sure did stink last night..."

- jmatchett383

I didn't think Neuvirth was very good last night. His rebound control was not very good at all.

It's subjective depending upon the arena and who is counting the chances. lol

Man, had something like that happened to a Rangers player all heck would be breaking loose here.

Also waiting for Tanner Glass to publicly call out Ryan McDonagh for running Lundqvist.

Well, that comes with the territory when you're the #1 goalie. The career backup schlub always gets off easy.

Hall was retaliating from Ghost taking a jab at him

He wasn't bad last night, he was okay. Yeah, his rebounds were bad, but he played well enough to give the team a chance to win. Flyers were careless with the puck and on their backchecks. And they still could have won.

two hander to the head isn't a reasonable retaliation for a jab imo tbh, downvoted

And Simmonds dished out a little retaliation of his own.

It's all good.

Again, a jab calls for a double shot the the head? Players shove all the time, most players don't answer like that.

Much like a clean check attempt doesn't call for a cross check to the head.

You and a few others seem to think he's the one we should be playing and keeping going forward.

I'm just saying Ghost started the whole thing then skated away. We'd be feeling differently if it was the opposite. We'd all be saying "what did he expect to happen when he instigated!?"

Of course we would.

That said, a jab doesn't call for a double shot to the head. Much like legal checks don't call for cross checks to the head.

I have never said that. I've always said they are both legit starters and they're not going to be able to afford to keep both.
